It adds back that button to make YouTube videos dark and some other things like making a video automatically repeat, allows you to control the volume with your mouse wheel, and displays some more stuff in the comments.

I remember them switching to this layout once in a while over the course of the past year, hopefully this is just a temporary thing to see what needs fixing.
Hahahah i hated the last design when it came out and now that i'm okey with it they ship even worse new layout. This is ridiculous did they have a competion in making the worst layout possible and then accidentally elect the disqualified entries?
The best thing they could do is to roll back like three or two years to the last decent layout, also sack the team that has been making these for the last years.
They should have done with new myspace did with their video player, and just make it take the entire browser window.

How do we know this is the final product, and not just a temporary thing?
I always get the new layouts like 2 months early. Each new layout seems to get progressively worse. More clicks to get to the shit I want to see. More whitespace. Less and less anything to the screen. It's a white wall, dammit. A white featureless wall with tiny icons and so much whitespace.
Who the FUCK wants a white wall?
The previous one was actually my favorite. The black was a very nice contrast, this shit just hurts my eyes now.

Its pretty much identical to the layout Safari uses when you browse Youtube on an Iphone or something
There is a reason people use the app instead of the browser version..

Must be painful for people with monitors that are younger than like 6 years.

I actually use the browser version because the app, for me, is shit at loading videos and constantly changes the quality throughout.

It's strange. The new layout doesn't seem to support Widescreen, which is probably industry-standard now even for computers. But on my 4:3, the video and shit are centered. .. Still looks like shite, though.
