It is centered, the just have a left aligned navigation, and a right aligned navigation that shows up for certain things.
Because the right aligned nav does not show up all the time it just looks left aligned.

I really liked old youtube's grainy background. It had some class. I bet someone could replace using a script without too much effort.

The one thing I hate is how clicking a video from someones channel goes now to a playlist instead of just the video.

I recommend Magic Actions for Youtube. It has the ability to do that, plus alot of other stuff, like telling you what per cent the video is buffered, and able to center the screen in a "cinema mode" and a bunch of other tweaks.
I really hate this minimalism crap.

I've had this updated UI for a few weeks or so already so I'm pretty used to it. But I still fucking hate so much. I can't search for videos and use the option to view the "Most Recent" videos first. I have to search by "This week", "This month", "This year", etc. and I usually get videos that aren't even related to what I searched when using these options.
I was watching some Two Best Friends Play and after every video, it just loads up another video on their playlist. I can't seem to find a way to pause this auto playing playlist thing. The previous UI did allow me to pause it. This is very annoying.
And my last gripe is having to enter a person's account to view their videos instead of just clicking a simple dropdown arrow showing all their videos.
Youtube should stop fucking changing the UI. Don't fix what ain't broke.

Honestly, I have a hard enough time getting the meager views I do get. I'd hate to think of how homogeneous they are making the site and how what little flavor I have will wash away.
They're testing how loyal their user base is.
I had this horrible design about a month back for a few days and when it left I thought thank god they came to their senses, now it's back and I'm a very unhappy person.
