So trying to put youtube to one side of the screen didn't center it, it just added that drag bar at the bottom, which is the worst it could do. I could accept it if it at least did like facepunch and most other sites so it would fit and center everything.

I don't think that's possible, I posted feedback asking them to provide a dark theme alternative since 2006 and as you can see they never did. So if they can't switch a few numbers to make a dark layout then I doubt they are going to change it back once they've decided to keep it.
