I don't like engine covers. They don't look horrid, but i'd much rather see the actual engine. Isn't that the point of opening the hood/bonnet?
I don't like engine covers. They don't look horrid, but i'd much rather see the actual engine. Isn't that the point of opening the hood/bonnet?
Seeing all the various pieces like the fuel rail, spark plug coils, and vacuum lines scares normal people who don't know what they're doing. It causes frustration and confusion when they open the hood. All they want them to get to is the dip stick and oil cap, which are usually the only 2 things coming out of the cover. Other than that, the air filter is the only other "accessible" thing. The idea is to let simple people take control of minor maintenance. Also car maufacturers claim it reduces engine noise coming from the hood.
Holy shit, all of those pulleys.
You're evil, I was just about to say that! Seriously though what are all of those for???
Holy shit, all of those pulleys.
Haha, I can beat that by 1 whole belt with that 3.8 in the SC. Sure built some interesting V6s back then. That diagram only has the supercharger belt and the crankshaft to jackshaft belt. It's missing the 3rd (accessory) belt, which looks like this:
Alright alright, I'm an retard.
haha good luck replacing those belts when they wear out
Haha, takes 5 mins for someone who never changed it, less if you've done it. There's absolutely nothing hard or long doing it, unless you are very mechanically inept.
