Nickelback does the same thing all the time. Both Nickelback and Pendulum are horrid bands. [editline]27th November 2010[/editline]
I think Pendulum is a pretty overrated band.
For something to be overrated it first has to be respected to a degree. Most people think Pendulum is garbage(Hold Your Color excluded).
*their only good
Granite at the end
that was fucking awesome
I lost it when they all crescendo'd at the same time.
This video proves how bad pendulum actually is.
this post proves how bad of a poster you are.

why do they always use the same drum rythm arghhhhhhhh
Pendulum's okay, some of their newer stuff is a bit wierd and deviating from their Drum & Bass roots though (ex. Self vs Self on Immersion)
Funny how people's favorite song on Immersion is Self vs Self.
Because it's the Amen Break: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen_break It's the whole reason Drum n Bass exists. Also lol at how people complain that all Pendulum songs sound the same, but the moment they make something other than DnB they have just as many people complaining that they are straying too far from the genre.
A lot of mainstream DnB is made from the Amen break and sounds horrible now since it's seriously overused. There's a lot of good DnB out there that doesn't sound like that, listen to The Panacea
Pendulum's okay, some of their newer stuff is a bit wierd and deviating from their Drum & Bass roots though (ex. Self vs Self on Immersion)
Self vs Self was pretty good along with Witchcraft.. although that new Album seems like a "We're trying more genres".
why do they always use the same drum rythm arghhhhhhhh
Maybe because it's drum & bass and simple repetitive drum beats define it.
Hold your colour was and is their best album.
I think Immersion is probably my favourite
Pendulum's okay, some of their newer stuff is a bit wierd and deviating from their Drum & Bass roots though (ex. Self vs Self on Immersion)
The island from Immersion also. more... Electro soundy stuff, but it's still nice.
More of the tracks sound the same in Hold Your Colour than in Immersion. In my opinion they have gotten better and better.
are you?
No but I am saying the two bands aren't very diverse.
Pendulum's song always have a very similar style and downbeat. Nevertheless, I still like them

Say what you will, I still find them to be a very enjoyable band. Immersion was an amazing album.
THIS is the amen break : @2:25
:psyboom:
In this thread, NO ONE has any knowledge of Jungle/Drum 'n Bass with the exception of camper182.
Idiot. there wasn't an amen break in any of these songs in the video. know what you're talking about.
I'm talking about the Kick Snare Kick Snare Breakbeat. It originates from the Amen break and is the basis for drum n bass. I don't see why you needed to be such a douche but it's pretty clear I was just trying to be helpful to the people wondering why the drum pattern is the same on every song.
obviously doesn't know what drum and bass is.
Ps. Rob Swire on DnB: "if your genre was flimsy enough to be knocked over by ONE SINGLE RECORDING ARTIST who happened to - god forbid - sell some fucking records for the first time in about 5/6 years, then i'm glad it was us that got to drive the final stake through its stale pig shit heart - and good riddance. wake me up when your genre is making something that people outside the scene think is worth listening to again."
Didn't have "Through the Loop" it's invalid. Just kidding that was pretty great.
No one wants to hear Willy Wonka droning on. [editline]27th November 2010[/editline] From 00:00 00:50 all I hear is Slam. And from 01:15 to 1:49. Hearing all of them in a row is pretty cool, I'd like to see more of that. Maybe a megamix.
If you made a full version of this and uploaded an MP3 of it somewhere, I for one would listen to it. Sounded pretty good.
The person who made this made history.
People bitch at every other band in the world for sharing the same 4 chords or kick snare. Bands make their songs have recurring elements because 1) The recurring element usually sounds good 2) It means you can recognise their songs easily 3) It's easier. 4) If their music changed completely with every god damn song then the genre and style would constantly change and it would be god damn confusing, as well as making it hard for a dedicated fanbase to form because you have no idea if you'll like the new songs or hate them. 5) As a result of 4, less sales, less money, less sponsors, less band. God damn people are dumb. This sounded pretty good, but like a few people said most of the songs are drowned out by Slam and Granite.
I want KICK. SNARE. KICK SNARE. as an animated .gif now.
