Guy records teenager texting and driving in front of him.

My mom does random shit like this while driving, even though shes concentrating on the road aswell I usually just tell her to not do it while driving.
And they say parents are meant to be role models to their children :colbert:
I have once texted while driving, when I noticed I'm 10cm away from the ditch I decided to not do it again
Technically speaking the guy holding a camera (probably phone) is just as bad. He just had the experience to not flit around the whole area like the teen.

Nope
You can use camera while still driving normally, texting requires you to look at the phone
No it doesn't. I can blind text without issues. The thing is, it still creates issues when shifting and other stuff.
Though I still think the guy looks as if he were under influence since he can;t seem to keep it straight no matter what. And dodges that first truck which seems to point at him being aware that he was swerving into oncoming traffic.
Being part of the problem is not a good thing and most drunks think they drive fine
I do drive fine while drunk!
The other guy just bent reality and made the road swerve under me. :smith:
That's insane. I only check my texts at a red light, I don't reply. I only reply when I'm parked or at home and my reply usually starts off with "Sorry, was driving --"

But just the act of texting while driving is awful. You use a part of your brain that should be dedicated to driving to text. Even if you're not looking a the screen, you still have to think about what you're typing.
With a camera, you turn it on, point it out the windshield, and drive. You don't have to focus on the camera.
Got a wireless headset for phone conversations.
Texting is a no go.
Yeah texting while driving is illegal in Canada except for one of the maritime provinces

Good luck with that on a recent phone that is just a screen without any haptics.

Well what I don't understand for instance is that even calling someone without a handsfree is illegal here, but smoking is not.
I'd personally be for banning any similar things which require the use of one or more hands while driving.
It's pretty obvious that texting wasn't the only issue here. He had to of been under the influence to be swerving that hard.
How some people are allowed to drive perplexes me.
Is using a phone while driving illegal in the US?
In some states. Some states ban any handed phone usage while driving, some just ban texting. Most have some law applying to it. We recently got a law banning texting while driving, while my friend in New Mexico can't drive and use a phone at all.
Specifically banning phone usage while driving is ridiculous when you consider how many other things that people do while driving that are just as dangerous or more so.
While they're at it, they may as well ban talking while driving.

bullcrap. nothing is more dangerous than something that requires you to avert your eyes away from the road.

Next you'll be saying people should be allowed to drive while drunk, right? It produces close to the same results after all.
God damn, if you really have to text while driving, at least do it when you're waiting at a traffic light
What if there are no traffic lights? :v:
I mean, I've only really seen traffic lights when I visited England.
I know many of you disagree with me. I text and drive but I have never been that bad. I never swerve that bad.
That guy is overreacting just a little too much to be saying stuff like that. Don't freak out, only makes things worse.
You're a fucking moron. Congrats.
I once tried to text "K" as a reply to someone while driving. I literally could not do it, had to pull over.
me and my old fashioned 12 button phone can text w/o looking

You can still use them as long as its hands free
A girl almost hit me as when I drove over a hill and she was in my side of the rode because she was looking for something in her passenger seat.
I beeped at her and gave her a semi-mean face
Why the fuck didn't he stop texting when he almost hit that first car?
Or rather, why the fuck didn't he stop texting when he was swerving so fucking bad
They eed to be in some trouble
This is drunk driving, not texting. And good job filming while driving, that's an amazingly responsible thing to do behind the wheel. If you're gonna be a crack civilian investigator, how about actually filming what you're accusing the driver of...him texting.
Can you not be so ignorant, he'd be watching the road whilst driving and guessing where the cameras pointing. Most vloggers on youtube film themselves whilst driving and have no problem with it.
