Could you post the original and what you did? The tones on this are absolutely stunning. I mean, it's a pretty boring subject, but damn it's such a great shot because of the colors.
Does this help? Second one is cool, but on the water it almost looks too sharp, like you need to turn AA up to x4 or something - your camera needs a new graphics card.

Have a guy (Sjokolade) in the cold: And an over-edited photo of a car that runs on pure water (if you first apply electricity to split the water into hydrogen and oxygen):

Looking at most of the recent pictures, does everyone have spring/autumn except for me?
Looking at most of the recent pictures, does everyone have spring/autumn except for me?
I live in Florida. The coldest it gets here is about 38 Fahrenheit if you're lucky. I'm guessing that winter is harsh as hell in Finland? Technically it's our "winter" though. Then spring is about 85-90 and summer's get up to about 104.

Firstly it causes those with slow connections or slow computers to lag out on the page, it is extremely distracting to the viewer, and we can't get a better view of the full photo to better critique you. I'm using a 1920x1080 monitor and that bottom portrait one can't even fit in my browser window. If you think you'll get more attention for it, you are right - but it is not the sort of attention that you want. A good rule of thumb is 1000px on the longest side at maximum, most users around here embed from Flickr at 640 or 500px on the longest side and that gives anyone on any monitor a good view of the entire photograph.
sorry they looked fine to me when i posted it..and to those who say i didn't take them..i did take all the pictures..i may not be good but i took them [editline]17th January 2012[/editline] if i had $400+ then i would beable to get a decent camera

I checked the EXIF data and all the pictures were taken with 3 point/shoot cameras and one at least even has his name in it. It wouldn't be to uncommon to go through 3 point/shoot cameras over the course of a few years. I think it would be safe to assume that these are his. If your new here then you've likely noticed that most users use flickr to host their images. If you don't have a flickr account and don't want to make one then like Salmon said, keep the images below 1000px. Also the purpose of this thread is for feedback. Sometimes this can come in the form of "Your picture is bad because X". It's straight forward and seemingly unfriendly but it is also helpful.

QQQQQUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTT [editline]18th January 2012[/editline] You need to take photos more often.
Mate, I take photos every day - including half a roll of film today. I have a huge backlog of stuff, all over the place. Don't think I'll get everything sorted and catalogued until after this summer :( In other news, I'm doing a photography module this term at Uni. It's nice going back and learning the basics from the very beginning. 2 more. I'm off to bed now. Ciao. Uh. This is a bit of a weird photo I just took. I forgot who it was, but someone posted the pic of a light streak going around some kind of ceramic decoration but I took the idea and applied it to some plant in my backyard.
