Too blue and cold for me. It looks like a nice day out, but the tones just bring it down.
First post in here. I'm an amateur at best but I do enjoy taking photos. I got a T2i with the kit lens and I really am enjoying it but I really do need to go out more and take photos. I haven't taken much with it yet because I haven't been able to get outside much lately. Looking to get a 50 1.8 soon for indoor low light stuff. I know I could probably make due with the kit lens but the grain on higher ISO is too much for me. Anyway here are some photos taken with the T2i and a couple with a Minolta X700. (The camera that motivated me to get a DSLR.) I'd appreciate any advice. Do you guys mind people who use "photo-enhancing" programs like Luminance on iPhones/Android? I have a few shots on my phone where I've used it, but not sure if they're worth posting here. :v:

Well first one was taken with my actual camera, and I do believe uploading it from my phone ruined the quality a bit: Untitled by Coyoteze, on Flickr This one was taken on my phone. Both were edited in Luminance, though. I use photo filters like hipstamatic which applies the filters at the beginning rather than requiring an edit. Who gives a shit? They're fun. A lot of them can be over done but they're fun to use. Another little camera in my pocket that's with me all the time that has the potential to look pretty funky. The photos can look pretty good in my opinion. Bare in mind there is a phone photography thread here.

Today I uploaded 4 more photos. I found a lot of abandoned houses and shacks in the forest. Can I have the raw of the 3rd picture?, I'd like to give a shot at editting.
Can I have the raw of the 3rd picture?, I'd like to give a shot at editting.
Don't have raw I'm afraid. My camera doesn't support it, but I could upload the jpg if you want. http://www.hakli.fi/ville/u/upload/DSCF3421.JPG
Teach me your ways...
Just load a camera and take a photo. There's very little editing in that shot at all. That coupled with nice lighting and a little bit of haze from the river and afternoon sun (but in the shade) created those tones, not me. No colour correction either - just tweaking of levels, contrast and an exposure offset of +0.0026, took the gamma down a little and a touch of unsharp mask. When I shoot on film, I tend to focus a little closer to the camera than you would expect to. Film sometimes does this with you. Occasionally it'll throw out a shot that the frame 'wanted' to produce and occasionally, the processing of the roll tends to favour some shots over others - I think that this one was the former. Basically, I just got lucky. But you can tip that luck in your favour with practice. As long as you feel confident about clicking the shutter, things tend to work out alright. It shouldn't take long for you to decide if a scene is worth photographing. I often raise the camera up to my eye and decide against taking the photo. Sometimes I go against that feeling and take the shot anyway - sometimes it works at other times it doesn't.
A few from the other day. I hope you like them. Weird subject but I was tyring to get a slight film-y look in PP... does it look filmy? Dead bee by Neeeekro, on Flickr
Define "filmy".
I... dunno :v: Basically I didn't want it to look like it'd come straight from a digital camera, and add a vintage/filmy look to it... ah hell I dunno, I'm having a hard time explaining :v:
Today I uploaded 4 more photos. I found a lot of abandoned houses and shacks in the forest.
I really love these. Specially the last two I can't believe those structures are still standing. Though I find them a bit bland, processing wise. I think some slight curve adjustment would be great for these photographs. Sorry for the loads of pics, but I just got 2 rolls of Delta 3200 developed and there are some pretty nice shots IMO in that pile. Got 75 shots total. What do you guys think about these?
