Very little editing, just natural lighting.
Amateur, pfft. The shot looks good and it's clear what the subject is, there's a bit of foreground noise but it adds to the image. Especially the texture of whatever the mug is on.
What do you chaps think about this? It's time consuming, but kinda fun.
Maybe mask out the model and selectively desaturate the greens from CA to make them less distracting.
I didn't think the CA was that noticeable. Spot healing set to Color mode should whip it in to shape. Cheers!
this is great, i love how calm the lighting is. her light coat, and fair skin really add to the lighting also, along with the snow. is this film?
Thank you, and it's digital.
I didn't think the CA was that noticeable. Spot healing set to Color mode should whip it in to shape. Cheers! Thank you, and it's digital.
I usually mask out the subject and areas I don't want affected, then ctrl+u and use the dropper tool to select the hue of greens from CA, and crank down the saturation, not entirely but enough to make it less distracting. Usually CA isn't a problem for me since the D90 corrects for it in camera. I thought it was pretty noticeable when I was viewing it 1080 pixels high. In print, it would be more noticeable. It really depends whether you like it or not.
i hate asking this but whats CA? I would google but it would come up with California
Chromatic Aberation.

I usually take pictures in Program, and occasionally Manual.

I find this with my light painting, anything you really do to it just kinda kills the whole concept. You've really made me want to try this sort of thing! might attempt it today.

I cropped this picture, at first my doggy was in the centre of the shot. Did I do the right thing by moving him to the left a little? The little red thing in the bottom corner of his left eye is just a little growth from birth. Would be too dangerous to remove and it doesn't affect him at all sparky smile by chaderotti, on Flickr
