:eng101: I hope you guys know, those terrible pictures with the building in it weren't supposed to be good. Even though when I took them to class, I got good comments about them. Made me laugh.

With little time for my photography final, I just took this SOOC. Nothing very interesting, nor creative. Going to have to let my paragraph do most of the talking.

Only thing I don't like is the corner of the mouse pad...
Was lucky enough to get to spend an afternoon chatting art and camera with Amanda Jasnowski.
We took a few shots of each other, some preliminaries from my end:

These all came out a little darker than I expected. Having color space issues with PS that I'll sort out later.
Liking the bright red.
Works very well to bring out the subject.

So we went to see the aurora, which was ruined by clouds out of nowhere (the forecast said clear skies all night).
Only good shot I got was my flatmate expressing his anger at mother nature.

Picked up all of this today for $24.95. It even included all the original documentation.

Can't see shit captain. As much as I love seeing new work from you and your clipped blacks style, the first one is just too dark - I was squinting to see the subject's face. Second one is good, but I can't stomach the first one - maybe it is destined for eyes finer than mine :v:

Also stay away from anyone with the last name Janowski, a guy named Luke Janowski is in my year at school and he's a douche wigga who thinks he's going to make it as a big shot hip hop artist.

The colors are great, but it feels a little subjectless.
Yeah I agree with that, I'll keep that in mind.

Just FYI, an image being non-PP isn't a badge of honor. It's perfectly normal to tinker with pictures, even if it's just getting the contrast right and the colours natural.

Plus you'd usually post a non photo if it's exceptionally good, or doesn't need a great deal of pp.
Yours on the other hand is severely underexposed and your subject is fairly boring.
some nice stuff this page guys.

My friend likes your work too, I just showed him a bunch of it.
Andy says hi. He also likes your Wiggles.

Well, it wasn't intended as a some kind of bragging thing, it's just that I usually post process my images.

Just wondering, do the models pay you to get shots of themselves or do you pay the models to get some shots of them?
Just wondering, do the models pay you to get shots of themselves or do you pay the models to get some shots of them?
It's generally whoever has more experience and is getting the least out of the time, or has the greatest expenses that get's compensation. Everything I've done has been 'trade for' which means both parties absorb their own costs and call it even in exchange for services. Agencies will do the same through 'testing', letting photographers have access to their models in exchange for bulking out their models' portfolios.
To answer your question, I've never asked for money, and I've never had to pay. I've offered gas money when they had to drive further than I did, but it's always been turned down.
