Some old lady ran a stop sign and dented the rear driver's side door on my LS400. It really fucked up her Cadillac. My car wasn't really that bad so I just drove it to the auto body place after everything was sorted out. Turns out insurance totaled my car because the frame is dented a little. I received $4,800 for a car I payed $3,500 for and I still use it today in the same condition as my daily driver. I invested the $4,800 right away in gold stocks and made enough to afford a '99 SL500 with 70k miles.

I have quite a boring crash story, it could have been much worse, possibly even killed me but I was lucky that day. It was a week after I'd passed my test driving a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2, my parents were on holiday and had told me not to drive the car until they got back. I'd picked up a girl (now ex) to take out on our first date, The date went pretty well and I was driving her home, thought I'd show off a bit and floor it, got it up to 100mph on a long sweeping bend. I didn't know the road. As I rounded the corner I was shocked to see a roundabout no more than 30 feet away, I slammed on the brakes but already knew I was going to hit the roundabout. There was an almighty thud as we hit it, I saw the hub-caps explode into shards and we came to a stop just the otherside of the roundabout. Being the gent, I checked if she was OK before inspecting the damage. I got out to have a look, both from wheels had been dented where they hit the kurb and deflated. The bumper was hanging off but the radiator was somehow intact, the car started and I drove it to the kurb on the flats, the steering rack had obviously took a whack as the wheel was about 30 degrees out. At just the wrong time a copper rolled by in his car and stopped to have a look, he said at least 1 young lad goes over that roundabout and normally ends up in the ditch, he said I did well to miss it, he didn't want to take any further action, just made sure me and the girl were fine before leaving, nice chap. As I'd only been driving a week I hadn't sorted out my breakdown cover so I had to swallow some pride and call my sister to say I'd pranged it, naturally she gave me an earbashing but eventually came out and called the AA who subsequently came up and put my car on the back of the truck. As I arrived home with the car on the back of the truck and the front end looking worse for wear all the neighbours were looking out the window. I spent the next few days explaining that I'm dealing with it and not to mention it to my folks (Which today they still don't know about). I got the car booked in, replaced the steering rack, 2 front wheels and re-fitted the bumper. Amazingly the suspension and brakes were fine, mainly because the kurb was slanted rather than 90 degrees which saved my car, I also missed a lamp post by inches which at 60-70mph could have quite easily been a fatality, the roundabout was grass covered softended the impact and there was no traffic coming as wer came round the corner... Probably the luckiest series of events that avoided anything much worse. I picked up my car a couple of days before my parents arrived home and they never knew it happened. My sister still holds me to it as she lent me some of the cash towards fixing it so whenever she needs a favour she bring it up.

i once reversed into a low bollard, but never actually crashed yet.

I reversed at like 1kp/h into snow on friday not much of a crash but it's the closest to a crash that I've caused :v:

Just happened to me few days ago, I was borrowing my uncles 04 Tacoma to throwout my aunts two couches after I delivered one of mine to her. It was a wet and shitty day. I'm slowing down at a stop light and this idiot fails to break and hits me in the back end. This dude has a low budget ~gangster~ civic and hits me right into the hitch which is reinforced onto the frame, his car is fucking WRECKED. His front end is gone, smashed inward from the middle. All I get is his paint on the ball hitch, At first I thought the cables snapped and the couches left, the cousins were in the backseat and I didn't have use of the rear view mirror. One of the dudes from the other car walks out in the street and directs me to a parking lot of the Adv. Autoparts shop I passed by (how convenient). I bullshit that my dad is a cop and we settle it there, and I'm on my way to get rid of the couches.

So everything that happened to you was his paint on the ball hitch? Nothing else?

If he was a dick at all to me, I'd call the cops (you're [i]supposed[/i] to report any crash that involves property damage, but not many people really do) and get the fucker's car taken away.

Kid complains to mom, Mom bitches at cop and has them file false report saying I caused the accident, I laugh when lady in Taurus files claim on other kids insurance rather than mine. Their insurance sky rockets, my insurance went down to $100/year. I am kinda glad it happened. My insurance is now wicked low, and my mom gave me the car right after the accident.

They rear end you going so fast that they push you into the car in front of you, and then somehow try to claim that you caused the accident. It's the kids fault and he gets what he deserves, a totaled car.

Off camera: Guy in a [i]Geo Metro[/i] pushed me up the track, it was crazy slick that night. Dirt track is always so unpredictable, that's why I went to asphalt and then quit going in circles eventually. I still like to drive quarter miles, but in a straight line. The car is a '90 Chevy Corsica. I drove it to the infield after the accident. Bent the right front strut, A-arm, and rear axle. Fixed it and drove it the next week. ;D

Right after the car got fixed from the accident, I took off the roof rack and the bug guard and did some rust repair, now it looks much better than it did before the accident. I've got a large list of things i want to do. I have the money for most of it right now, but I'm going to need the money this spring. What I would like to get is; JDM bumper beams ver 6? (i think) front bumper maybe different rear bumper, the rubber on top of mine is missing a chunk and i was thinking about different tail lights/tinting sections different, i have seen some where all but the reverse light was red and it looked pretty good.

Craptasket, have you had the frame itself inspected since the accident?
