If You're Not On Facebook, It's Time To Get Over Yourself

you need to have like over 100 facebook friends to make it worthwhile, then you can see how everything goes on and shit and it's pretty cool.
I have like 8-12 people on my friend list
Facebook is a goldmine of resources for a dramatic reading of a badly written break up story
I have a cell phone.
I don't need it and therefore don't have it.
The thing about facebook that pisses me off is that people rely on it to keep contact anymore...
[editline]20th April 2011[/editline]
I do have one, though.
I got one because there was an offer to get a game for free once. I got the game, then totally locked down privacy settings as much as I could, and blocked every bot that tried to make friends within 7 seconds of me registering.

This is my facebook profile.
You've never even given it a try have you? :colbert:
Yes I have, but the interface made me rage.
Facebook is stupid and I refuse to have the inner workings of my life brought out and shown to other people.

I agree with not using facebook but that shit you don't want other people to know, you don't have to post about on facebook anyway you dolt.
[editline]21st April 2011[/editline]
I hate when a friend tries to hypocritically 'ally' with me about what I think of facebook.
They usually bring up "I can't be private about anything on facebook" but they never realize that if they wanted to be private they just wouldn't fucking spew their shit everywhere like an attention whore.
my facebook account got deleted because i went to a pink floyd concert and recorded it with my camera and got slammed for copyright for posting the video on my wall
facebook can suck my tiny korean dick
I've spent the entirety of my spring break indoors, in the same room.
So no. No you don't. :colbert:
I'm spending my Spring break doing that too!

Now before I start my rant let me go ahead and say that I'm not ranting about Facebook, I'm ranting about a lot of the crap this guy said that just gets on my nerves, he's basically, no, literally saying that if you don't have a Facebook page you're worse than Hitler along with a lot of other stupid crap. I'm all for Facebook but, what this guy said... God damn.
Seriously, Facebook and other social websites are a great thing but this guy makes it look like if you're not on a social website you're a no-life no-friends loser that should go kill himself. I don't need a Facebook account to have friends or memories to nostalgia about.
Anyway here we go:
Oh, yeah, I'm not on Facebook. Like, it's so invasive. If you've said anything like this, I feel bad for you.
You feel bad for people that praise their privacy? Facebook does have privacy issues that many people don't like and...
And yes, there are privacy eyebrow-raises that are warranted—it's a little weird that people I barely know anymore see where I work, where I live, and who I'm talking to.
Oh, there we go. Congratulations, you pretty much just made your point completely moot.
Defenders of something more natural and independent than Zuckerberg's friendship hive.
Remember kids, it's bad to be independent nowadays, you must join the hivemind to have a life and friends.
Oh, and by more natural does he mean things like, actually going out with friends? If so then this is just beyond retarded.
Except really, these people aren't defending anything except antisocial, extremely annoying behavior.
Or our privacy. And how are antisocials extremely annoying? All they do is sit on a corner not bothering anyone.
If you care about any of these things—socializing, memories, friendships—you should be using Facebook, in spite of all its sour, vexing flaws.
Or maybe if you REALLY cared about any of that, you would go out with your friends have fun instead of sitting on the PC, I'm sure you won't have memories to share and nostalgia about if they're all of you sitting on your PC talking to your friends that live right next door.
Basically, if you don't like Facebook, it sounds to me like you don't like your friends. And what kind of terrible person doesn't like friends?
Or maybe I and many others value our privacy? Since when does having friends include letting a million people look into my life?
Even Hitler had friends.
Really? Fucking really? Did you really just go there?
Didn't anyone watch the social network? Everything Zuckerburg(in the movie) adds to facebook before launch is what everyone wants to know, but it's the social connection that makes us need it.
Didn't anyone watch the social network? Everything Zuckerburg(in the movie) adds to facebook before launch is what everyone wants to know, but it's the social connection that makes us need it.
Zuckerberg hated The Social Network and said it was inaccurate as hell.
That was the most bullshit ignorant article i've ever read.
I have a telephone and a car, I think I can communicate with my friends just fine without some shitty 'social networking' site.
I can communicate with my friends just fine without facebook. I use it because that way I don't have to spend all my money calling people or texting over small things, sure I do those a lot as well. I prefer seeing people face to face and I do that more often than facebook. It also helps to keep in touch with old friends because I have moved around a lot. Its great for pictures of crazy shit you've done, sharing links with friends, etc...
It just makes communication easier, stop generalising people.
Both sides don't address each other's arguments. The facebook side declares how useful the site can be, and it can open up alot of opportunities while it has site flaws. The other opposing side declares how much you have to degrade yourself to level with society's standards and how privacy is being invaded at every turn. The overall all argument is silly.
The only thing I use Facebook for is to troll people...whatever.
Zuckerberg hated The Social Network and said it was inaccurate as hell.
Well, no one said it was a documentary...
I have Facebook, but it has no appeal for me. I just rant and watch people cover their ears.
Some people enjoy bullshitting on Facebook, but really, its better if you aren't one of the self-obsessed tweens who have over a thousand friends, half of which they have never heard of.
Its fine to like it, but to say those who don't are the problem is really, really, really stupid.
I don't want my personal information sold to corporations.

god this is dumb
EVERY1 IS DOING IT YOU CUNT, GET ON IT LOL. fucking classic schoolyard behavior
shit, if people don't want to use facebook, then fuck off. who are you to judge? go talk to one of your 2000 "friends" about it, 90% of which you've probably met in passing once or have never even seen irl, instead of forcing your opinions on others
I don't have a problem with Facebook, nor do I have any disparaging throughts for people that use it or any social networking site.
But the idea that I don't want to use it because I am some edgy hipster with no friends is kind of insulting.
because not having a facebook instantly means you have no friends.
Everyone agreed with the OP.
I have a facebook account, but I haven't been on it for like three months. Honestly, I don't know what I should do on it. I added most of my classmates to friends, but they are so intellectual and emotional and sensitive, and they must express their feelings by posting some shitty black and orange picture of people kissing and write something intellectual in english (it's not my native language) below. Also, I accidentally pressed something in an app a few months ago, so now it's spamming my mail every day with shit I can't understand. Oh, and the only real friends I have don't really use facebook either. And "socialising"? I have Skype for that, 11 hour long voice chat conferences all day, erry day. Either that, or I'm an edgy cool kid hipster.

WHY WOULD I NEED A DAMN FACEBOOK APP ON MY TV?!
The reason I removed my facebook account is mostly because of what the article and a few of the first pages are filled with; Morons.
itt: people have a hugely over inflated self-worth / self-importance

Dedicated facebook buttons.
Fun fact: Ville means City, so retards on Facebook are actually playing Citycity.
I don't have a FB. Never needed one.
