No one forces you to spend a lot of time on it. I don't look through other people pictures or any of that. I use it to chat with people, send people messages maybe if I don't have their phone number, sort out social arrangements.
Facebook would be a much better place if they controlled how much you can post in a day..
why? do you post too much?
I use Facebook for homework. Just as I do AIM or any other messaging program.
And recently for the Assassins Creed game.
What a terrible article.

That's a function more suited towards Facepunch. Hell, you may as well just add this function to every single place where you can post comments.
I mainly use it because I like to keep up to date with my favorite bands :buddy:
90% of statuses made by people I know IRL however, are terrible.
Its your usual "LIKE THIS STATUS AND I WILL RATE YOU OUT OF 10!!" bullshit.
I don't use Facebook because I don't want to procrastinate or waste any more time than I already do.
And I really don't see the point.
I don't see how Facebook is bad
there are dumb, ugly and weird people there, but they are in every other place on the internet, so why bother?
I only use facebook for the coupons.
Starving people in Africa don't count. I'm referring to Americans, not foreigners.
I don't usually rate people dumb on this but fuck me...
What about people who don't have Facebook, but legitimately don't want one for non-bullshit reasons, like they don't see it being useful to them or wouldn't use it regularly enough? "Everyone else is doing" is sort of a bullshit reason to HAVE a Facebook account to begin with. A GOOD reason is that you see it as useful.
That being said, I have one, but don't use it too often. I just use it when I receive email alerts. Otherwise, I don't care about it that much.
I grew up under the notion that anonymity was what made the internet amazing. Universal equality based entirely on how you present yourself in text format.
So no. Facebook can blow me.
Pretty much my entire opinion on social networking.
I have an account but I don't use it all too much.
Either keep up with society or get left in the dust.
I was voted most likely to be on Facebook in high school. :smug:
Facebook is a useful social network tool. I've met some people I only barely know better, and I'm able to better communicate via it.
I made an account on Facebook once.
It's been dormant with a count of 0 friends ever since.
I'm not on facebook because my parents, family, coworkers and supervisors are all on it.
At first I made a Facebook just to enter in some contest to win a game or something.
It's great and if you don't have it you should honestly move to Detroit and jump in front of a car.
OP misspelled "Facepunch" and accidentally wrote "Facebook"

:colbert:
If jesus was alive to day would he uses facebook no.
I would use Facebook if all of my friends actually had something better to do than play Blops or post unfunny pictures from 2005.
Oh, and also it's hard to troll on Facebook without ruining your relationship with other people. Anonymity is the defining factor of the internet.
Everyone should have a facebook so they can join This group:

everyone!
Makes setting up birthday partys and such easier. Its also nice to be able to set things up or just see what's going. As well as talk to people.
What if people don't care about every detail of their friends life? If it is really important to a friend that you know something about them, the friend should tell them what is so important. I am not saying facebook isn't useful, but it seems like this guy is implying that you need facebook to maintain a healthy friendship.
"if you don't like Facebook, it sounds to me like you don't like your friends. And what kind of terrible person doesn't like friends? Even Hitler had friends."
I am shocked that a writer from Gizmodo is allowed to rage on their sites. When you rage, you increase your chances of creating a logical fallacy such as this one.
Facebook helped me find some long-lost friends of mine. :unsmith:
I don't understand what everyone has against it.
I want to disable mine, but for some fucking reason I can't. FUCK YOU, Mark Cock-sucker-berg!
It's useful as fuck to set up things with people
I use facebook to stare at girls I'm too socially awkward to talk to.
