:godwin: in the OP good job.
You know some people would rather take an email or a phone number and talk to people face to face.
URRGHGHH THE GRAMMAR
My sister and her friends will never ever use proper grammar. It's annoying, and drives me to insanity. Is it that hard to use proper sentence structure and wording? It's harder for me not to after training my brain to use good grammar.
im trying extra hard to make this sentence right now bad. I cant!
Get over it. I mean, most grammar issues a lot of you guys complain about have no affect on your ability to understand someone.
I more or less use facebook as an online store for all of my photos. I take a lot of photos of our animals at home and when traveling about (we have a lot of land and more random species of vermin than you can count). I also just keep a small group of my closest friends on it.
That way, if I'm talking to someone and we get chatting about our pets or interesting things we've seen, I can just go "I took an awesome photo of X or Y once, look me up on facebook, I've got it all on there" and 30 seconds later we're going through my whole library of great animal photos and such.
But that's just me.
I have a gimmick account that I use to fuck around but it's just for fun.
Facebook is great! I can talk to people I haven't seen for some time and I improved my relationship with two girls.

It affects whether or not I continue to speak with them.
Facebook is too invasive for me, and it's filled with morons I despise.
I hate that people rely on it.
I want to talk to people, not read their status updates.
I have an account just for the sake of preventing identity theft and checking a group that has news related to my interests.
Other than that I don't use it because I'm a forever alone twat
my other excuse is that i refuse to use it until https is forced on every single page
You can set it to use https whenever it can, and if it can't it'll tell you, you know that...right?

Go make a friend or something
Facebook is a fad like every other social networking site before it that failed
In a few years something else will show up and like rats off a sinking ship everyone will leave Facebook

I don't know if you're just joking around or you're...just being a total loser

I really doubt it at this point

That's what they said about television in the 60's.
It affects whether or not I continue to speak with them.
Why?
Kinda ruined it with the last sentence.
It affects whether or not I continue to speak with them.
That sounds awfully pompous.
Overall I like facebook. I use it because that is what everyone else uses it, which is not in the sense that I'm doing it because everyone else is, but more in the sense that it is the social site people are most active on (in my area at least). It is nice for keeping in contact with a lot of people I really don't see anymore, like high school friends.
My girlfriend cares far too much about our relationship status. If there is any sparks the first thing she wants to do is change her relationship status to "it's complicated". A minor chance of breaking up and she wants to change it to single. She always brings this stuff up in arguments.
Something I find really creepy are all the people commenting on revealing pictures of girls saying that they want to have sex, and the girls usually take it as a compliment. The "you are beautiful" comments aren't bad, but is really weird when people start explaining what they would do to them.
You think Police services don't have access to that information regardless?
They don't.
Too bad the facebook trend is here to stay...unlike myspace.
This is probably the dumbest article I've read in quite a while.
5.5 billion people

And half of those people are living in poophuts.
why do you hate black people so much
i only use facebook to talk to family that live far away.
Basically, if you don't like Facebook, it sounds to me like you don't like your friends. And what kind of terrible person doesn't like friends? Even Hitler had friends.
haha oh WOW
i like social networking, but i dont want the owner to disrespect my privacy.
and werent social networking services around 10 years ago? maybe not with farmville but it had the basics.
so...
OP misspelled "Facepunch" and accidentally wrote "Facebook"
You mispelled "I'm the dumbest and worst poster ever I should kill myself" with "OP misspelled "Facepunch" and accidentally wrote "Facebook""
They don't.
It's a bit ambiguous as to what you are saying no to because I think the person you are replying to was implying personal details that are usually posted on facebook, not that they have access to private facebook pages.
At least in the states, they do have access to your name, birth date, and place of residence. I know this because I was out at a park at night and the city had a curfew for minors, and they thought I was a minor and I didn't have any ID with my age on it. So they asked me a few questions and did a little background check.
That sounds awfully pompous.
Oh well.
I've been abstaining from facebook for 4 months as sort of a bet really (in the bet I am not even allowed to see someone using facebook).
I have to say, it has resulted in some of the most horribly awkward moments of my life. I don't know anything about what people are doing any more and in the teenage life style I have no idea who the fuck is going out with who. Example conversation a month and a half ago.
Me: So, how are you and ben then?
Girl: We broke up a month ago, where have you been?
Me: Um I didn't know
All of the girls friends are looking at me at this point
And this happened 2-3 times, and it doesn't sound that bad here but holy shit in real life when you make this mistake so many times its hard.
your worried about stuff like that? wow

thats what the last generation said about myspace 5 or so years ago
I have no real use for my facebook. When I do use it it's to send messages to make plans with friends.
