according to agent 1337, there are more than 5 and a half billion hipsters in this world
doesn't surprise me. we're heading towards things that require no effort
yeah i know caps lock and shift are so close yet so far
Read the rest here: http://uk.gizmodo.com/5792570/if-youre-not-on-facebook-its-time-to-get-over-yourself What's your take on this facepunch? I myself have facebook, but only really use it to send private messages to friends, make plans, etc.
If you care about any of these things—socializing, memories, friendships—you should be using Facebook I don't care about any of those things except friends. I have two of them and I see them every day. I don't want or need a Facebook. It's pointless. I have no myself to get over.
Facebook is great as a news feed.
That was the most bullshit ignorant article i've ever read. I have a telephone and a car, I think I can communicate with my friends just fine without some shitty 'social networking' site.

Also, is it at all possible to not attend to something vital in the human mind, like memories? Do you seriously ignore memories? I'm not attacking your stance on Facebook, I don't use it either, but it sounded rather idiotic when I put together what you said.
I have a facebook but I don't use it. Don't like having a constant stream of people I barely know send me shit to games I never heard of. I don't care if someone I barely know had coffee with her mum. Don't need to know that my friend don't like a certain band. There's no reason to send a friend invite to me just because I know your friend. My mum uses facebook and has me added as a friend, big reason never to use facebook again. To me, facebook is pretty useless. Sure, I can "keep in contact" with my friends through facebook, but for fucks sake my phone has been able to do that for as long as I can remember!
I don't have a Facebook. You know why? It's called get off your lazy ass and go talk to your friends in person.
Don't have a facebook account, never will. I prefer totally anonymous discussion rather than having to constantly tip toe around subjects. The writer of this article sounds like a pretentious cunt. If I may be more specific, one of those pretentious cunts that bitches you out for not having an Iphone and instead having a droid.
I have one, just because nobody seems to use MSN Messenger anymore, so I have to talk to people on Facebook.
This :eng99: Since I moved around the world a while back, I've had no contact with practically anyone from the last era of my life. I still held off on making an account until recently when I released my blog, just because I didn't want to go through the teething pains of doing it. And it turned out much worse than I expected.. The only upside is that it notifies you of anything and everything that happens, so you can just glance through the notifications instead of traipsing around people's pages wanking everywhere as seems to be the norm
The Netherlands is the only country in the world where Facebook isnt the primary social network. We have Hyves, which allows you to personalize your page alot and make it crappy/unreadable. We will not submut to the facebook invaders!
My friend only got one at the end of year 12, too keep up to date with all her friends who she figured she would never see again. She calls it Facewhore, which I always say, "nice one Tegan", to.
I think most of us are in agreement that this article is complete and utter bullshit. All in favor of locking?
I don't like Facebook, but I've got no fucking choice if I even want to get a hold of anyone anymore.
Facebook is shit, but without it I would not be half as socially active as I am now. It's become a necessity for organising events in real life.
Why go on facebook when the people I know are a stone's throw away? Surely talking to an actual face is better than chatting through facebook, I'll get one when I move away. To everyone complaining about people posting annoying, stupid shit, why are they on your friends list? I have a policy of only having people that I like on my friends list. If you don't want to remove them, just hide their posts. [editline]19th April 2011[/editline] I like Facebook because profile pages aren't customisable.
Facebook have seemingly been trying hard recently to make people release their details onto the internet for all to see. Think I'm bullshitting? How many times have they 're-organised' privacy settings recently, leaving them all off by default. Privacy should NEVER be opt-in. The only reason I have facebook is to keep in contact with people who I can no longer see. It's crap apart from that. Like this article 'hurr durr no facebook no frendss'
I have a facebook, but I haven't bothered to post a status or even log on since the beginning of the Japanese earthquake disaster.
The only reason I have facebook is to keep in contact with people who I can no longer see.
This exactly. Friends I met who live in Hong Kong, South Korea, Russia, and other countries I may never see in person again.
I hardly ever use facebook. All i ever see is song lyrics, fucking song lyrics as far as the eye can see. And it's never a good song, never once have i seen some song lyrics and thought "Oh hey i actually know of that song and like it." it's allways some shitty sounding bullshit. I never talk to anyone on facebook anyway because i only have like 2, MAYBE 3 real friends on there i actually give a shit about. Another thing people post alot, "Oh my god this is terrible!" and then they don't say anything else and when you ask them "Whats wrong?" they are all "I don't want to talk about it"... THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU POSTING THAT PUBLICLY ON FACEBOOK? Makes me want to punch a kitten.
I don't use Facebook because I have no reason to use it, not because I'm some inane wannabe social rights activist.
I have one girl on facewhore, who is always posting a status. I'm sick. I miss him. Gonna be in the city 2morow, who wants 2 join. my little brother did this, and it was stupid and cute, Going to be in the city. like for a photo edit. post cute wall posts or inboxes. Should i cut my hiar today what colour blah blah blah But I can't delete her, as this will probably annoy her and she won't be my friend any more, and then her sister who I prefer will be annoyed at me, which is who I care about more.
Most of the people on my Facebook are people I talk to pretty much everyday. I rarely use the IM function unless I want to know what assignment I missed in class if I was sick, things like that. A friend of mine posts statuses like "tomorrow's gonna be a sexy day". I know that your girlfriend is coming over and you're gonna fuck her a lot of times, I don't care. Keep in mind I have only 22 friends. I deleted about 120+ earlier this year, too much BS.
I was thinking of creating a FB profile, just for trolling purposes, but I'm not sure
I'm a facebook-a-holic.
Who cares if you are on FaceBook or not, people may not want the world knowing about how your sandwich tasted.
Closed my page, because it streamlines my social interaction. I have a phone to call people, everyone I know online goes on a community TS. Plus it means I dont have to deal with all the fucking sycophant weirdoes complaining that I didn't add them on facebook when I met them once and found them more annoying than itchy ringpiece syndrome. That and co-workers trying to add me, when I already feel like jamming my cock into the inner workings of the photocopier after they show me YET AGAIN that picture of their children dressed up as fruit. And how fucking hard is it to organise going to the pub! You do not need a who’s who list of crazies spending time and effort with some stupid system when all you need to do is ring and go "Will! Pub?" And so what if they say no! You don't have to spam them with endless messages of "Oh please come out! It won’t be the same without you!" You go to that pub and you have a damn good time! Play darts and have discussions with the old timers! Talk about how the youth of today have no concept of how their technology works! (This happened, a co-worker didn't believe me that petrol engines working by harnessing explosions.) All in all, have a decent social life without having to show it off for acceptance from your so called "peers".

I have a Facebook, it's useful for most things (messaging, mailing, etc.) but I hate it.
