How can an action movie be called an action movie if the main character isn't an unlikable douche and the action is completely incomprehensible?
How can cereal be cereal without those horrid crunchy bits that are like biting into a ball of razorblades and rocks.
Not that the devs could give a fuck. I read a comment saying they'd like to drop this shit off and never look at it again.
Wouldn't would be bored of something after spending 4 years on it?
The devs do care but there are no plans for a sequel.

that's what I Said!
You said "Not that the devs could give a fuck."
I said, "The devs do care..."
That's not the same thing.
I liked the game but the boss battle was pretty lame.
Oh come on! The manikin part was pure genius without cheap jumpers.
Just got back from playing it. Two things; [sp]what happens if you go through the doors after the elevator stops at the main entrance[/sp]? And [sp]the ending was a bit of an anti climax, I get that you're supposed to think for yourself about what happened with Emily and Romero and everything but I would rather have a clear ending instead of a cute "thank you" and then rolling credits.[/sp]
Also; [sp]THOSE GOD DAMN MOTHER FUCKING MANNEQUINS[/sp] were the only things that really scared me. Apart from [sp]the bit where the torch just refused to work and you had to use flares and stuff.[/sp]
I really enjoyed the mod though. Might play it again with some friends at some point.

I fucking loved[sp]the first time you notice the mannequins rearranging themselves behind you to look at you, it was fucking cool, not scary, kinda creepy but really fucking cool. And what a dick move for that one mannequin to fool you into turning off the lights, where you thought it was a swat guy :v, I couldn't turn them back on though.. and yeah the torchlight going off with the flares was a kind of psychological scare they had going on and I enjoyed, but they could have pushed it by miles, like if you were to hear noises of something following you, and if you lingered for too long in one area you'll get scratched or something, and sometimes you'd see it in front of you as soon as you light a flare. But alas, so many could haves..[/sp]
This mod could have been a lot more than just cheap scares.
Uh, also i'm not going to upload the last two parts cause i deleted the clips by accident, but you can find several others walkthroughs for this on YouTube.
Nightmare house 2: Wait 30 seconds for locked door to unlock.
It was fun and well done but [sp]70% of the tension was jump scares. the mannequin flashing to a gruesome version for a second, the floor falling, the 12th body that is pulled away or of-screen.[/sp]
Scared the shit out of me. Awesome though. I'm glad someone put this up, I needed help with Chapter 5.
What the hell are you talking about? There were no screamers at all? Have you even played this yet?

Like the developers said with SARCASM, i guess. "It's like F.E.A.R cause it has spooky girl in it!"
It's more like FEAR that just that, it has the girl in it, the SWAT peoples, and the terrible scares, but it was fun. Just like FEAR
Well it has a lot more similarities to F.E.A.R. than people realize. For one, the hallway that extends for a long ways with blood on the ceiling is from F.E.A.R., as is the falling into a blood pool, and so is the claustrophobic room. It sucks that the devs take offense to it being compared with F.E.A.R. because I thought it was a good game. This was a terrific mod, the occasional similarities to F.E.A.R. really don't make any difference to me. Something about a little girl ghost trying to kill you just gets me every time. And the way they manage to pull off such atmospheric things is genius. The tightening room with the girl on the ceiling is just a masterpiece of a game scare as well as the mannequin posing as the soldier.
You gonna put up the rest?
i got about 6 minutes into the second video and couldn't watch it anymore, you're not very good at playing this, your so jerky when you play i cant even tell wtf is going on.
it looks like fun tho
Oh, to Slayefin, you might want to get a microphone. It isn't hard to add commentary that's relatively entertaining, and I'm pretty sure most people aren't keen on watching a mute run through a video game, as that all it is, rather than an actual walkthrough.

As much as I hate to agree with this guy, I have to, most good walkthroughs have some commentary on, most not that much, just a few overviews of whats happened so far, like
"Well I liked when *this* happened, but it could've been slightly improved by doing *that* instead" or
"That was really scary, I hope I get as much of a scare out of the rest of the game as I did here"
So far, we may as well go play the game ourselves.
Great gameplay!

I writed to YouTube to the videos description that my voice is annoying. And it's true. So i just kept it as gameplay, not as commentary gameplay.

Also, here are the rest of the gameplays made by MaxOfS2D, hope he doesn't bother that i add them here.
Nope. The entire game consists of cheap scares and thrills. It's a nice looking mod that obviously took a fair amount of work, but honestly, this isn't a scary game, it's a game that will scream at you and make you scared. The worst kind of scared, because it's just LAME.
For me, truly being scared involves a fear of dying. Games with heavily limited ammunition tend to be very effective at that, since you never know if you'll be overwhelmed at the next encounter.
"I am going to kick your ass, with science of course!"
I chuckled abit at that
The tightening room with the girl on the ceiling is just a masterpiece of a game scare
Oh christ, when the room started getting smaller I was like, okay, and started just bunny hopping up and down the corridor to see what would happen, and when it was as small as it could get I sort of just paused... And nearly had a fucking heart attack when I looked up again.
I don't know why everyone in this thread is bitching about 'cheap' scare tactics. I don't know what kind of horror games you lot play, but I find without the possibility of being ambushed your paranoia is greatly depleted.
They used some inventive techniques that I thought worked really well too; i.e. gave me a massive adrenaline surge. The [sp] shortening hallway [/sp] is probably the best example of this.
The fact that the fast zombies [sp] were just the images Romero implanted of your mind, should have allowed even more grotesque creatures to be added. [/sp]There was no alternative poison zombies for example.

If there's going to be little to no ammo, there might aswell be no weapons at all, like in penumbra. Because if you encounter two enemies, and have one bullet left, you're pretty much toast, and if they run faster than you, fuck.
Then again, maybe it's just me who prefer playing horror games defenceless
i.e. gave me a massive adrenaline surge. The [sp] shortening hallway [/sp] is probably the best example of this.
That didn't scare me. I just thought it was annoying walking back and forth a few times in a hallway.
I'm usually terrified of these kinds of games, but after everyone said "Penumbra is the scariest game ever blah blah blah!" I played all three and I wasn't that scared. This wasn't that scary for me either. The part where you keep turning around and seeing [sp]mannequins looking at you[/sp] was really cool though.

I was playing with my friend next to me, and we laughed so hard after I was sitting there like "alright the hallway is tiny now what the fuck do I do" and after about 5 minutes I looked up and I was like "JESUS FUCK"
Well, that was a disappointment.. You could see that the swat-dude would get dragged under the garage-door thing from miles away. Ending wasn't that good either.
