plastering eggs all over the windows because they only got 1 thing.
Wait, that actually happens? I always just thought it was a myth or some shit. Excuse me if that sounds dumb as fuck. Denmark (or at least not my part of it) doesn't celebrate Halloween, so all I know about Halloween is more or less deprived from cartoons and stuff I read online.
Because its some dumb fucking american thing that doesn't belong over here. Big ass bonfire and fireworks are neat enough I don't need little kids demanding free shit from smashing in my houses doors then plastering eggs all over the windows because they only got 1 thing. Basically what I'm saying is they can go fuck themselves.
well gee aren't you just a blast of fun? Lighten up man. Maybe small towns, i'm not sure to be honest. But in Philadelphia not much goes down that's out of the ordinary.
the whole house egging thing only goes on in select neighborhoods. It's not a widespread thing.
But halloween is still an american thing which doesn't fit in a lot of cultures.
I actually forgot tomorrow was Halloween until a few hours ago. :suicide:
But halloween is still an american thing which doesn't fit in a lot of cultures.
No reason to call it stupid, though.
Personally, I like the spirit of Halloween.
No reason to call it stupid, though.
Nobody did?
Because its some dumb fucking american thing
Was referring to that. Unless that was referring to something else, in which case, my apologies.
Was referring to that. Unless that was referring to something else, in which case, my apologies.
Oh, didn't notice that pharse. I have ashamed this chat. I will now commit sudoku.
Nobody did?
Reagy called it a "dumb fucking american thing"
Reagy called it a "dumb fucking american thing"
Everyone has their views though. He may find it extemely dumb, while i find it extremely dull. Don't have to condemn him for what he said.
I can understand why some people dislike the really consumerist side of Halloween, but there's a lot else to it, too.
I can understand why some people dislike the really consumerist side of Halloween, but there's a lot else to it, too.
There isn't. All the "major" holidays have become pure consumerism.
Halloween parties are the best parties of the year.
There isn't. All the "major" holidays have become pure consumerism.
Not to be an ass, but America is a capitalist nation. How do you think we make that capitalist thing work? :v: Besides, I'm getting delicious candy in the deal.

I've been seeing that character everywhere lately and I'd like to know what it's from. Edit: Nevermind, I discovered the Mystery Skulls Animated thread literally five seconds later.

(Reagy, the roots of halloween are pagan. It's not an American thing. Just sayin'. :v)
(Reagy, the roots of halloween are pagan. It's not an American thing. Just sayin'. :v)
Prob. the americanization of the halloween pisses him off.
Not to be an ass, but America is a capitalist nation. How do you think we make that capitalist thing work? :v: Besides, I'm getting delicious candy in the deal.
As you said it. If your nation is fine with holidays that have little to the original meaning and are on spending a lot, fine. I like my holydays to have meaning and to pay respect to the roots it came from.
I happen to know that there are kids dressing up and receiving candy around where Nerts works. And he's in Ireland. :U
I happen to know that there are kids dressing up and receiving candy around where Nerts works. And he's in Ireland. :U
As if halloween wasn't spread to most, if not all, of the westerd world.
I'm saying it's not an Americanized thing. It's everywhere. It didn't really start in one place, the holiday just kind of became consumer-based everywhere.
we just kill all the lights on halloween and pretend we're not in this one time though the kitchen light was on and someone knocked on the door and I was stood in the hallway right in front of the door I ended up literally diving into the living room and I grazed my knees but I escaped
I'm saying it's not an Americanized thing. It's everywhere. America picked it up, made it spend lodsa of money and spread it. Is that simple. Not saying is bad, but i do not enjoy holidays that are focused on spending, not one bit.
i do not enjoy holidays that are focused on spending, not one bit.
These days it feels like you'd be hard pressed to find one that isn't.
