Looks like it wasnt a dead disk, but the power supply was dropped from the disk somehow.
False alarm (thank god).
it's shitty work that pays well
Most work that is potentially risky/dangerous/shitty and being a job that most people usually don't want to do, pays well.
Took a tour of a professional 3D printing "rapid prototyping" company the other day with my sculpture class.
Place is cool as hell. They have $125,000 3D printers that use UV lasers to cure a solution inside a vat, and when its done the finished object literally rises outside of the fluid
They also have standard plastic 3D printers, wax 3D printers (used for investment casting - AKA the wax part is printed and polished up, then the wax part is used in a process to mold a steel part), full color 3D printers, and an entire machine shop.
I honestly think working there would be a really cool backup job that I could enjoy that I know pays really well.
The only thing that kept me off of it is that I strongly desire a creative-focused career job. This type of place satisfies that itch on some level, but its very much a "workshop" more than it is a studio. Especially since everyone who works there that I could see, is the type of person who you'd see obviously taking woodshop/vocational styles of education. The "silent conservative craftsman" type - which is fine, but not really the kind of work environment I could thrive in. Or be out about being gay in in all likelihood haha.

I still haven't gotten to play with my college's fancy new 3D printer because only art majors have access to it. :sigh:
FUCK RANDOM DISCONECTS PLEASE.
Ask yourself if paying international student fees at VT (something crazy like $35k per term plus living costs and intl student fees) is worth it for meeting some internet friends and getting away from your family, especially when uni here is so cheap (or free).
Also that last part, you want to stay there because it has gay marriage? The US isn't as gay hating as you think it is, my ex is in in the American South now and he's fine, there's even big gay communities.
[editline]6th November 2014[/editline]
Also ask yourself if it's the UK you hate or if it's just your family.
Actually that was mostly a joke. I mainly want to study in the US and ultimately live there, though it's not a secret that I want out of the UK honestly
Is your school gonna help cover it? Or your government? Or are you able to pay for it out of pocket? Or loans? I only ask because VT is like 36K a year for out of state students alone (this doesn't include the health insurance, books, lab fees, laundry, and other shit), you should probably factor that into your decision.
Honestly, i'm still weighing options. There are a few alternatives I have in mind if need be, this is just the one I want to go to mainly
I'm curious as to what is so awful about the UK that you'd get into massive debt to leave it.
Politcal, social and personal reasons. dw about it
Going to be poisoning this place with my presence for a bit, sorry.

okay then. i think a large amount of folks just pop in and out of here as it is.
Only if you get tinkerbell to calm her shit. She looks mad.
That's nothing, she ain't even gone red yet.
I'd be mad too if I had to wear those dumb fluff balls on my slippers.
I'd be mad too if I had to wear those dumb fluff balls on my slippers.
But I thought you liked balls.
Most people in here do.
But I thought you liked balls.

I don't want them on my feet unless I really don't like a guy
I'd be mad too if I had to wear those dumb fluff balls on my slippers.
Don't you talk shit about the puffballs.
I've been pretty bored in the past few weeks.
There's nothing to do but program and look after children. All the games I have on steam have been overplayed. I want to get another job but I don't think I can handle it.
[editline]7th November 2014[/editline]
Might trade in some of my old console games and get some steam giftcards assuming ebgame hasn't fucked me over and removed my membership points
How come there's been some people from the CD/TG thread joining us lately?
I thought they always did. I have seem them quite a lot there when I first joined in

Find a casual part-time job to ease yourself into it
How come there's been some people from the CD/TG thread joining us lately?
Chunk of them visit here constantly and this is more a general chat thread than "omg dicks lol" thread.
What did you expect?

I dunno, I never really noticed they visited this thread until not too long ago.

Yeah I'm thinking about that
My job was a full time job and it was a nightmare because I didn't get what I thought I would get (MASSIVE MISCOMMUNICATION ON THEIR PART) and the hours weren't in my favor.
Working hours from 8AM to 5PM. So I have to catch the bus at 7AM and 6PM. I was basically away from my for 12 hours so I had 1 hour of free time and 11 hours to sleep (I have a sleeping disorder)
You could add a small band of photos running through the middle of card showcasing some of your work in the background and add a small black pinstripe border to it.
That is only one small part of the site. It wouldn't make sense to do it right there when you look at the site as a whole.

Lets see the whole site then.
We should play some multiplayer game together sometime. Hopefully one that doesn't rely on ping too much.

Be lucky you had a job when some people in this thread have been looking for months.

If it's co-op then I'm in
