Ram itself is fairly cheap, certainly one of the cheapest and most efficient upgrades to make. What are you doing though because most of the time i see a lot of people buying like 12-16gb of ram while they themselves would never ever approach using 8 gb. Additionally, why drop 200 on an ssd unless you're getting a large capacity ssd which at that point just shop for sshds.

honestly in my opinion if you were going to use an ssd as your boot plus other files, i wouldn't go below 120gb. I opted for a 120gb ssd as my boot and figured i'd put a few core programs on it, jesus i have to so closely moderate the storage on it. But you can easily find 120 gb ssds for 70 bucks, oh and thats 120gb actual size, so usually they're marketed at 128gb ssd's.

I've had a 64GB SSD since they came out and I've never had issues. I just install large programs or games to one of my other 5 hard drives. I generally have about 20-30GB free on my SSD after installing Windows and the essentials. In other news I got my car tinted today. I bought a 64gb SSD when I first build my PC. It died after a few months, but Crucial was kind enough to upgrade it from M4 to M5 and also double the ammount of storage, so I can't be mad. Warranties FTW :v:

I moved my downloads and temp directories to a HDD so they didn't waste precious space on my SSD as well.

I got an i5 2500K, GTX 470, 8GB RAM in my gaming desktop that has been the same for like..four years now. It still maxes everything I've played in recent times! I just try to ignore the fact that it doesn't actually boot sometimes and I have to go to the BIOS and exit it for it to boot (?).
