Noticing a slow down here. Posting seems to be really laggy.
Welcome all new gaypunchers
Enjoy your stay~
So I recently finished watching every episode of Star Trek TNG and I want to start DS9 but I feel like I'll only be disappointed because Patrick Stewart isn't the lead actor :(

Get to find out if I was elected LGBTQ rep for my college tomorrow. I'm already one of the trans* conveners university wide, but if I win the rep position as well I'll be in charge of welfare for all them LGBTQ peeps on my part of campus. I campaigned pretty hard so I should win, but it'll be a hell of a lot of work if I do.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh i didnt know you watched star trek duuuuuuuuuuudeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Dude I'm a sucker for slow burning philosophical hard sci-fi.
Picard is the best.
Kirk can suck so much balls. Unless it's Chris Pine's Kirk. He's pretty cool.
Although I wouldn't object to Pine's Kirk sucking some balls. ;3
I still need to finish Voyager before I start TNG. :S

Also up to season 5 on Voyager too as well.
How can you do this, TNG is pretty unanimously considered the best ST series, it's incredible, I didn't know what I was getting into and I'll be surprised if anything can surpass it.
Also, I liked all the TNG movies despite popular opinion, shh don't tell.

TNG has some fantastic segments, the characters feel so real.

Also I think Data would make a better captain than Picard at some times, like this segment here, he is so on point.

I'm afraid DS9 is a bit more action orientated. A lot of the ethical questions are to do with war and such.
I must be the only person ever to not have watched anything Star Trek related
Who needs Star Trek when you have Jack Bauer?
Who the fuck needs Star Trek when you have the infinitely better Star Wars? B)
There are 533 hours 45 minutes of Star Trek episodes. Only 13 hours and 14 minutes of Star Wars. Even worse, there are only 6 hours and 19 minutes of good Star Wars films.
Just sayin', love the Star Wars, but I'm not gonna rewatch it every night.

Nice try.

Hey, looks like we'll be getting more soon~ ;D
I want to believe that but 'The Force Awakens' is such a horrible title I'm scared of disappointment.
I want to believe that but 'The Force Awakens' is such a horrible title I'm scared of disappointment.
How the fuck is "The Force Awakens" worse than "Return of the Jedi."
Jedi is my favorite film but that name is retarded.
The original trilogy and the oodles of awesome video games more than make up for the prequels.
Not to mention Abrams is bringing back some of the things that made the originals so good. Practical effects, for example.
Most of the prequels were shot in front of a green screen. The new ones are going to be mainly real effects, I'm so excited.
Star Wars is gonna be cool looking again.
It's JJ Abrams so I'm ready to be disappointed if his Star Trek films were anything to go by.
Sure they were good, but they could have been generic action scifi without the Star Trek branding and copyrighted elements, they were nothing like Star Trek when it came to story and style. I'm expecting similar with the new Star Wars. He made them very pop culture scifi with extra action and dumbed it down, because it appeals to a wider audience.
I agree Jedi has a bad title but I also think Jedi is the worst film of the original 3, the Ewok nonsense being my main gripe.
'The Force Awakens' just means so little, while the original 3 titles were very explicit in their relation to the plot. I'm sure it'll be worked into the plot but when I hear it it makes me think of prequel Yoda/Qui-Gon and all that midichlorian nonsense that I wish wasn't a thing.
I thought the Abrams Star Trek movies were better than the original Star Trek series.
William Shatner cannot carry a show. He simply can't. Kirk ruined every scene he was in, and it was up to the rest of the cast to carry the show.
In the movies, every character was strong and had a distinct personality.
Firefly and Battlestar Galactica best space scifi

You forgot Farscape.
Dear god no farscape was bad.
Are you high
Farscape is amazing
Are you high right now?
Yes but that's not the point >:c
Shatner's Kirk gets a lot of flak but I like him. He's not my favourite, that would be Picard, but TOS is my favourite series. The Abrams films fail to capture the Sci-Fi elements of Star Trek, throwing out the fairly in depth technical, political and social sides of the shows. I always felt with TOS that the ship is so fragile and technology completely not up to task (contacting Starfleet takes like half a day iirc) that there's this feeling of helplessness and any tiny situation can crank up the tension so high, like the very best of the TNG episodes (Power Play, for example). Didn't get any of that from the films.
Also, unrelated, I really dislike Cumberpatch as Khan. Khan was originally hispanic, and I really don't like him being played by a white guy as if the character has no racial identity.

No, Khan was originally Sikh. They miscast him twice.
