That's what I like about the new Star Trek movies mainly, I think the main cast was always so perfectly casted. I never EVER watched the original Star Trek series for the sci-fi elements. In fact, in the original series, the sci-fi kinda sucked. It was always about the crew, and that's what they did well. For excellent sci-fi, I watch TNG. I think TNG is probably the best sci-fi series ever. It easily surpasses Doctor Who and the like for me.

is lord of the rings any good like would an average person say "this is good" or would I have to be a fan of the book or fantasy medieval times to enjoy it

Better than the book, in my opinion. It's a series that translated really well to film.

I watched the LOTR and Hobbit films for the first time like within the course of the past year with no previous exposure. I've got to say I really liked the first LOTR film, but I was really dissapointed with the second. Third one was better, but I left feeling like I didn't really 'get' it. I had a much better experience with the Hobbit films (Journey & Smaug), I loved them both.

Sometimes I like to sit down and watch all three LOTR movies back to back. It feels like going on an adventure.

Where were the people blaming whites when Occupy protesters smashed things up, or when rioters set fire to half of Vancouver after they lost a hockey game, or during the Quebec tuition riots?

They were protests. Some people were going around breaking shit just to break shit. Same with her Vancouver. They're isolated cases of idiots using the situation to smash shit up.

Yeah, I think the Ferguson issues are definitely a race thing. When the KKK celebrates Darren Wilson's indictment, you know it is. I personally think the whole thing is insane. I live like, only a six hour drive away from Ferguson. I couldn't imagine a police officer ever getting away with shooting an innocent person, no matter what race he or she may be, and being allowed to walk free afterwards. I'm not a racial minority, but that's literally the reason I'm scared of the police.
