I haven't paid full price for a phone since i bought my first smart phone in highschool 2009. I've had higher end flagship devices too and i've never spent higher than 100 bucks. I got my current phone, a note 3, for free. Went through another company for a deal on money off the phone, then sold the phone i had before, i completely offset the total cost and effectively got it for free. Before that i had an HTC DNA which i got for 20 bucks brand new from using a few deals, before that a droid 3 which i got for 50 bucks brand new, both the htc and droid were bought when they were still recently newly released phones too. I'm getting to the point where i think i'm accidentally really thrifty with shopping and end up getting great deals on things without trying, i always thought i was bad with money but with electronic devices i seem to always spend so little cash as opposed to what others pay.

also these companies really want you to do business with them and not other so if you're about to renew or get a new deal, go to every other competitor or just flat out bullshit that this is what they offer you and sometimes you can get away with it. just make sure the guy helping you is a manager or assistant manager
