I've never seen a single episode of Breaking Bad.
I've never seen Doctor Who v:v:v
Me neither :v:
I have nothing against the show but generally the Doctor Who fandom has proven to be one of the most obnoxious, annoying and in-your-face fandoms I've ever seen.
I know at least 30 people attending MFF, at least 10 of them are from Perth alone. Seems to be a fairly popular con for Australian furries to attend for some reason. How is it? I've only been to a small con here and it was good fun, I may plan to go to MFF sometime in the future.
Its pretty awesome! I have heard that it is generally reguarded as one of the better cons out there. the hotel it takes place in is great. I know like 10-12 people who are here but ive yet to even see most of em despite running into hundreds of different folks in the cental lobby :v:
Its kind of nice, i live about 5 hr drive away from the biggest con and 5 hrs from the supposid "best" con. Worst thing about it is the location, everything food and etc related is at least a 20 minute walk away in thr freezing cold, and the cheaper fast food is 30 min away :( at least downtown chicago is just a ride on the blue line for 40min if you want to spend a day doing that.
Every fandom has a part of it that fits perfectly in that description.
You have no idea how correct that is, i've been around way too much that i can confirm this whole heartedly.
Like if i had to think about it i'd put furry on a scale of 1-10 about a 4-5 compared to other groups and communities i've been a part of or know decently enough about.

The British managed it well for the 40 or so years before it ever revived. Watching Dr Who on a Saturday evening on the beeb is as British as drinking tea or shitting the queen.
Also it seems i missed the cards against humanity chat. Personally i love the game and have all the official expansions. It's a fantastic game and i love how it literally encourages you to make your own rules. So me and my friends play the game much differently than most others do, but then again when ever someone wants to join they don't know how to play it to begin with so it's like clean slate.
I think it's one of the most overrated shows on TV.
It's good but not amazing.
The only reason I watch it is for the acting from Matt Smith, his Doctor character is just way too good.
go to cons, they're fun
if u like anime dat is/other stuff
Cons are the best. You get very excited to go and then you get nailed in the face with post con depression.

Does it equal it out if I missed Dr Who but also never watched Breaking Bad? :v:

I suppose so.
I mean, even the queen watches Doctor Who.
Messing around in ESO today and toying with the new phone. Interesting stuff.
I might have to go to some furry conventions next year, multiple people tell me the parties are great.
Are they comparable to anime conventions and would a non-furry be out of place?

Apparently it's the same thing as there are panels, dealers room, commissions, main shows and all of that good stuff. And of course parties.
You wouldn't stick out unless you do something stupid.
It will be a lot of fun!

Most of the time we don't play with a card czar and instead each person presents their own card to the whole group of players. The group decides based on majority who wins. It's a more trust based version of the game and allows for abuse so we're careful with who we play with when playing those rules. It's great though because CAH is a perspective based game so if you present a card and no one gets it or finds it funny, you can explain or give an angle and then it can become the best damn thing ever. I won a hand once with "I Drink To Forgot: Alcoholism". No one got it and my hand was about to be cast out until i explained it, ended up winning for that hand.
We also have instant win cards, there are only 3 determined instant wins so far that my friends and i all agree upon. Cards like 'firing a rifle in the air balls deep in a squealing hog'
You can get extra points if you can act out your scene in a hilarious way
We play with 5 cards at all times but allow you to destroy your whole deck to draw a new 5 cards once. This is useful if you have a hand full of verbs or stupid cards. This becomes a huge problem when you own all the expansion packs so i run into this often.
But as of late my friends have only been wanting to play the base vanilla game of CAH.

I'd say dr who season 5 and up, aka when moffat took over, is when dr who became overrated as all living hell.
Now Davies dr who, not at all. Then it was all about the character of the Doctor, now it just seems to be all about the image of the doctor and his companions. Then you have all the people who jumped on because matt smith was cute (which trust me is a large amount) who are now abandoning ship because of the 12th doctor.

I can't wait for Capaldi, he was brilliant in The Thick of It.
Matt smith is amazing.

I can't wait for him solely because i loathe matt smith with a passion and think he's probably one of the worst doctors. He was nothing but a gimmick to appeal to doctor who's new found demographic of teenagers.
[editline]23rd November 2013[/editline]
I should probably warn you guys that i can go full pretentious artsy mode when discussing Dr Who.
I didn't like Matt Smith I think he smells.
David Tennant was brilliant and I loved him.

The destroy your cards rule is good, I can see it working wel with only 5 cards in a hand.
But the not having a card czar rule is pretty silly, I don't see why you wouldn't be playing with similarly minded people in the first place :P

Not having a card czar is a better way to make it a party game because instead of appeasing one person, you have to make a case for your card against everyone. Requires more effort and the results are more fun. But we only play without a card czar if it's a group of 5 people or less. Above that it gets clusterfucky and a card czar is needed. The idea of not having it though isn't because people aren't like minded, though when people do just jump in you don't really know what to expect.
We also play with the rule that, if you visibly offend someone or someone overheard the game and became offended you instantly win the game and a new round begins.

Tennant was absolutely brilliant because Tennant grew up watching Doctor Who and always wanted to be the doctor. He understands the character and based his performance mostly off the 4thand 5th doctors. He brought a quirky light hearteded touch to the chracter without compromising any element of the doctor as a character itself. He was still clever, serious, and compassionate.
Matt Smith however, sees it as just another role (a role he admitted he doesn't heavily care for). And the character he plays is just "awkward and funny!". When he gets serious he just looks ridiculous, as if he was spazzing out from someone insulting him. Moffat's writing most certainly does not help him as moffat aimed to have the doctor to be like that.
I kinda just want to see Peter Capaldi's Doctor at this point...
Meanwhile...
I'm finally watching the Lord of the Rings movies :p
edit: I think Frodo should be the next Doctor yeh

Nah, as much as i love Elijah Wood, he's not doctor material.
LOTR, while the plot is iffy at best, are a very well-made series of movies.
They're not too great story-wise, but they're an absolute blast to watch.
I loved the LOTR movies, but I found the Hobbit to be incredibly dull in some points.
I don't like Doctor Who but Capaldi might change that so we'll see how that goes
