Big dogs are much cooler than small dogs in my opinion. More physical excersise and food required, but small dogs also tend to be more aggressive and annoying in my experience. Either way, train your dog properly! If you do it right and don't treat it like it's the boss then most of the problems I have with small dogs go away!

Just dont forget that the dog has thoughts and feelings, and can get depressed and lonely if you dont treat it like a friend. [editline]4th January 2014[/editline] I can see my neighbours dog in their back garden running in circles alone most of the day, it's very sad.

We've actually had a miniature schnauzer before, and he was really good. We had him for about 12 years (pretty much my entire childhood)

When I was born my parents bought a German Shepherd. I grew up with him and he was literally one of my best friends. He died when I was five, he was so young. I cried for days.

If I were ever forced to get a small dog, it'd be a corgi. They're like the only small dogs that don't suffer from small dog syndrome. Otherwise give me the biggest Alaskan Malamute or German shepherd you can find pls

I absolutely adore Bernese Mountain dogs, but their short life span is a real downer.
