You're not wrong there either, I'm glad someone else agrees.
Mine is a Nod soldier, what does that represent?
I'm too retarded to have considered using them for that purpose.
Subconsciously favoring it. I didn't choose my avatar right now for the specific purpose, but on a subconscious level the vacant stupidity of it spoke to the way I felt at the time. Sometimes if I'm feeling vulnerable or worried, I might change it to something else. Or if I'm angry and upset, maybe a different one again. Not chosen for a specific set of connotations, but because I kind of just connected with it.
You like this one you're using, and if I'm right, I'd expect that it's something to do with the way you're feeling, or something about it made you feel that it was a suitable image to represent you. Maybe it's just the kind of distress and frustration that I get from it that is what drew you to it in the first place. Emotional instability due to emotional extremes.
It seems a bit obvious to me that people like to try and represent themselves in a way that expresses how they feel, whether or not they explicitly go out with the intention of doing so. Sometimes I get it more from people who don't express themselves very well verbally, and it comes out in other ways, like in avatars and passive things like that. This last point isn't really true for everybody, but I see it sometimes.
Honestly fen's avatar doesn't bother me but his attitude towards it all is just foul.

No offense but you're really, REALLY over thinking this. Sure i factor in who i am or how i feel when i select my avatar but im not going through an introspecting or self scrutinizing mindset and chose an avatar to reflect it. I feel that many others do what i do and not go as deep as you do.
My avatar is a flirty shark cuz' I'm the biggest skank EVER

You're really overthinking this, I chose it because I had no ideas for what I could choose next.
You're really overthinking this, I chose it because I had no ideas for what I could choose next.
But your subconscious did. :v:
Does my avatar mean I like to stab things?

I thought we went over this, I'm too retarded for that.

I go deeply into it in retrospect, not in the decision-making process. I saw this gif and thought "looks cool" and used it. I jump back and forth a lot with what I use as avatars on forums, which lead me to wonder why I'm more inclined to like or dislike one or the other, and so it I put some thought into why. It's all a subconscious thought-process; I don't go so deeply into it when deciding what to use as an avatar. The decision of whether or not I want to use an avatar anymore just kind of happens naturally.
The difference could just be how much I subconsciously care about how I represent myself compared to you. And so my thought process behind it might end up being a bit more convoluted.
Like, if I was you, I'd be wondering why my previous dragon-man was bulkier than the current one. There may or may not be a deeper thought process behind it, but if it was me changing that one detail, I'd wonder why I cared.
I'm just interested in why I make certain decisions over others. The decisions themselves are fairly natural.

Yeah, that's why I don't talk to you so much.
But really, I'm just talking about myself for the most part. There are different ways people make choices about things like avatars and such; mine just happens to be one that has roots in how I want to be seen. I'm just kind of interested in why people like theirs. The reasons are more or less complicated from person to person.

I'm like this in a few aspects myself but for something so insignificant as an avatar i don't pay nearly as much mind. Not to mention things like my past avatar vs this one. The inconsistencies are there but merely because i know and accept things like this don't have to be consistent.
Does mine mean I want to grow wings and obtain freedom?
You're really overthinking this, I chose it because I had no ideas for what I could choose next.
I just wonder why you thought it was a suitable default. Or even why you went off the previous ones. I find it interesting in myself, and I find it interesting in other people. Why people are drawn to one thing and not another. Subtleties and such.

I just made mine because my sister showed me the picture and I thought I'd turn it into an avatar.

I like to find significance in really small things like this. That even the smallest things have some subtle meaning, or hint hidden behind them. That down to the smallest degree, everything has some sort of explanation. It's of really really small significance, but finding meaning in the seemingly insignificant makes the world a whole lot more interesting to me.
Mine is a Nod soldier, what does that represent?
It represents your inferiority to GDI.
I just made mine because my sister showed me the picture and I thought I'd turn it into an avatar.
Yeah, I know, I wont be able to find any answer there. I'm not you, so I'm not close enough to the evidence to find any kind of pattern, or make a case.
Over thinking things like a boss.

I do this for many many things, my adhd usually kicks in and i get completely infatuated momentarily with simple things and i have historically always over thought many aspects of things and i get lost in thought over thinking simple details. However i seldom do it in regards to things like avatars for a forum. maybe if im on a site like fur affinity maybe i would think like that as avatars are usually of folks individual characters which leads one to thinking "why did they chose this" or "why did they make them like this?"
I actually really agree with Teto here. My avatar speaks of who I am.
Something else I've noticed but have you ever realized that almost all avatars are of someone instead of something?

Yeah, so you obsess over little details and their meaning as well. But there are so many things in the world, and each thing has so many details that I can hardly expect you to have thought about this one. The reason I think about it is because of the relevance I feel avatars have for myself, considering I change them a lot, for some reason or another. I'll concede that, because people don't feel the same relevance as I do, then I can't apply my logic to them at all.
Like using directions to get from A to B; I can't use the same set of directions to get from a different A to a different B in another city. The distance between my A and B (action and reason) for this particular thing is a lot longer and more complicated than the distance between your A and B, so of course this looks like overthinking to you, because there's not so much to it in your head. That's a nice enough conclusion for me to go away with.
edit:
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/upPNhNA.png[/img_thumb]
u get me
B is more separated from A in my case, so going the same distance of thought to find B, using your A as a starting point, leads me past your B. Everything past where your thought process would normally stop is classed as "overthinking".
I'll go ahead and blame all this talking on caffeine. Feel free to return to drama and cock-talk at your leisure (not that I think it's of any less value than all this self-indulgent wank).
Because I like this avatar.
You only like it because it's causing people to get pissy.
You only like it because it's causing people to get pissy.
It's really only this thread that's getting pissy.
You only like it because it's causing people to get pissy.
I'm tempted to just disable all avatars because they're a source of trolling, like Masterfen just admitted to doing.
I was always against them being 80x160, but they are now so I may as well join in.
I'm tempted to just disable all avatars because they're a source of trolling, like Masterfen just admitted to doing.
Why would I troll? I'd just end up getting found out and banned anyway.
how can people argue over little pictures next to peoples posts
i dont understand
Does mine mean I want to grow wings and obtain freedom?
It's funny cause he's banned right now and "locked up".
Also my avatar isn't a representive of me. I just happen like the Gouf mobile suit. And there are only so many pictures of it doing something. And one that could be made into an avatar.
