Environment is very hard to keep up so I've found. When your city is young though, don't worry about it. You can always add clean power later on when your city is better established. Also, invest in education so people want to work High Tech Industry or High Wealth Commercial.
Ah yeah, good point on fixing the environment after fucking it up. And by investing in education, do you just mean go for the more expensive schools or am i missing something?
I assume you just start with wind turbines then? I always started with natural gas for some reason.
Yeah I usually build up to 3 of those, by that time I can usually easily afford the coal plant so I place that then quickly tear down the windmills until I'm more profitable later on. Being totally pollution-free is basically impossible
Speaking of Civ games.
I'm terrible at Anno. But it's fun.
I suck at about 90% of the games I play.
But I can't stop playing them.
You best add some diagonals to that gridtopia. >:(
Default diagonals are really ugly, and I'm still trying to figure out the curved roads that the Network Addon Mod includes
The lack of fully 3D buildings is the only thing that really holds the game back
at least I have that roundabout, that's round

I thought environment was affected negatively by things like coal but improved by parks.
I ended up covering my town in parks before I realized it wasn't making a difference.

That's why I refuse to go on pubs.
Pubs are like a cheap box of chocolates. A few may be good, but most of them are gonna be those awful orange sherbert ones.
sometimes its not an option
see: wot, war thunder
When I make a city in Sim City 4 I set a large residential block, water, wind power, school and medical clinic, add commercial and either agriculture or industry a while away, so the pollution doesn't reach.
I add police and fire stations as necessary.
I use wind power until I can afford solar power.
Usually works.

Oh eventually when education gets better I can put in high tech industry right next to everything and it stays pretty clean.
[editline]15th January 2014[/editline]
Normally I just keep getting bigger and bigger but profit doesn't change as much so eventually I just go bankrupt.

I usually only play games with one to a group of friends and usually no pubs if I can manage it.
It's just more fun to play with your buddies

Physics is impossible to figure out and therefore irrelevant to the entirety of modern society.

For the record, this is as far as I got in solving the problem myself:

I think trees block air pollution slightly, maybe parks too
I haven't found a low environment rating to matter much as long as the places where people live aren't polluted
Someone cuddle me :c

Reinstall NAM without the Real Highway Mod unless you're truly patient enough to read the hundreds of pages of its PDF files. It's kinda recommended to do the custom install with it due to the amounts of niche and near-mandatory options it has (many automatically disabled in the default install).
What kind of dance?
umm modern, jazz, tap, ballroom. i think we're trying them all.
but we're all going to preform three different choreographed dances for final exam.
anyways, dance went well today.
I'm now sure I'm done with Microsoft Office related tomfoolery.

Yeah but it's better used not to spam up the thread with boring microblogs.
Get a Twitter account already, Husky.
I get that this thread is kind of a group blog in a way, but it's not gonna work if everyone posts every little thing that's going on on their computer.
That's correct.
Thanks!
I tried at first to use tan, but I shortly realized that I would have issues with that. I then realized that if the fraction was flipped, I would be able to do something; and I was like "OH! I'll use cot for the first part!" I didn't think I'd actually have cot in the final answer though, so that's why I thought it was wrong.

On another note, I so wanna finish my math addon to markdown, but I'm not sure how to implement the syntax... maybe I'll ask programming and webdev.

Sweet. Dancing can be pretty useful, in my experience. And it's fun.

well he has a point, it's one thing to posts here, it's another thing to always be posting images.
Facebook or Twitter is better suited to post an endless stream of puushes.
