I just looked through the currys website and they're seriously trying to charge £50 for a toaster. A fucking toaster. Works via heating up metal strips until they're red hot. Had these for like.. what, a century now? And you're honestly trying to charge me £50 so I can apply heat to fucking bread?
and that's how I knew I was a communist

Just sit on it and you'll get there eventually.
Anyone here ever do the GED test? Any tips for it? I have 9 weeks until my classes for GED end and was looking for certain areas I should focus on. My weak point is math mostly.
so today i destroyed about 700kg of harddrives, how was your day?
I did nothing all day and I'm proud of it.
My day was proactive for once. Applied for another 12 jobs, got fuel and put my old car up for sale finally :v:
My day has been eventless except for when I slipped on the stairs for the fourth time in the last two weeks and nearly broken an arm :v:

Apparently they updated the test for 2014 to make it harder. You also have to take the test on a computer now. Hmmmm any one whana tutor me in math :v:

Awh Yus. The instructor told me I aced the reading/writing portion of the test and suggested that I take that area of the GED soon if I wanted to.

You fucker, why?
So that cute male in class?
Turns out, he's a) hitting on my female friend, b) suspected of rape, and c) not gay. My female friend told me this.
Welp.
Joining the military out of desperation is the #1 wrong reason imo

Try not to think about it as only a way out, consider all the opportunities that it can open up for you as well man. I'm not sure how exactly the RAF works but I can't imagine the benefits are a whole lot different, but a paycheck with full insurance coverage? Really though, in the end it's as much as you want it to be; as long as you're willing to prove that you're a cool human being and hell yes you're up to the task. And anyone can do that because you're human and as such are already cool as heck. (Barring disabilities because military :(. ) And you get to be called flyboy! Is that not worth it right there?
It's not really desperation, it's more that it seems like an interesting and unconventional job that has better prospects than any normal jobs I could work right now.
You fucker, why?
apparently beacuse of "security reasons"
I don't recommend being out in the military if you happen to be in a unit with a lot of typical anti-homosexual folks in it. Which is very likely, since its going to be very rare to be enlisted with colleges that are accepting of homosexuality, and even unit leaders. Don't Ask Don't Tell might be repealed, but it might as well still be in effect with how anti-homosexual much of the military still is.
I know of someone who was out in the USAF and it caused a huge amount of problems for him, to the point of almost ruining his career in the air force and being part of the reason behind two relationships that went sour (though the latter I think has more to do with how he handled the stress of it all rather than being a direct result of his problems in the USAF). Thankfully he's now getting transferred to a completely different unit and base so that part of his life is going away.
This is in the US by the way. Not sure about elsewhere, though I can't imagine it being too much different.
It's much different here, heard from experience with friends in the army and air force.
For one thing, the first line on the recruitment website is: "Whatever your race, religion, social or cultural background, whether you’re male or female, gay or straight, you’ll find professional respect in the RAF".

I'm not going there to pick up guys or something anyway.

Jesus christ are there that many around your area? I apply for one a day and consider that a lot

applying could mean dropping resume at a place, regardless if there's an opening or not
applying could mean dropping resume at a place, regardless if there's an opening or not
Exactly this. Shooting off resumes to some places regardless if there is an opening. I also looked on some websites for actual positions though.

Yeah. My brother and old roommate told me that nearly all of their squadmates were just a bunch of southern rednecks who said "faggot" a lot. Like, I seriously can't go near that brother anymore because after he came back. All I hear is "faaaaaag" and see ridiculous conservative shit all of a sudden on his facebook wall.
It seriously made me feel all :tinfoil:y about the military as some sort of GOP recruiting foundation or something.
Speaking of the military, I joined a DnD game with like 6 Air Force guys, and one other who isn't.
It's loads of fun.
Also, if y'all join the Air Force and on the off chance you get assigned to Offutt AFB, hit me up!
if theres one thing id like to be good at (in a hobby sense) it would be art
im a huge fan of art but i havent tried to draw much since i got discouraged by some kids a long time ago, so some of my tumblfriends are encouraging me to draw again. maybe itll help my abysmal self esteem if i felt like i had a talent, even if its nothing much

Right now I'm really into writing cartoon scripts and making engine noises with red bull cans
Art rules. I wish I was into it more but my passions for anything these past few years have almost entirely vanished.
I did however draw a lot in middle school and high school. Drawing a lot can help a shitton with getting better.
Just look at how much of an improvement I made from 6th grade to 11th grade:
6th

11th:

Still kinda terrible, but an extreme improvement in quality was made.
I suck at drawing.
Drawing can take a lot of practice, it's not always a talent you're "born" with.

I applied online at Radioshack and luckily they happened to be looking for someone. And now the district manager wants to interview me. I don't think they do that for every new employee at every store they manage. I wonder if they want to train me to be the new assistant manager (current one is moving to the store on the other side of town which is why they're hiring).

Find some guides and just start doodling random shit, or do what I do. Find someone's b/w artwork and colour it.
I sometimes spend too long colouring stuff.

Try other kinds of art? Plenty more mediums than drawing to express yourself.
