trying to install video drivers on obscure hardware in linux could be likened to being blind and repeatedly hitting oneself in the face with a hammer in different directions hoping that possibly a blow in the right direction could fix things

I see it more as "Defusing a bomb with a stun gun"
It's theoretically possible, somebody's probably done it, but there's no real way to do it and you'll probably fuck everything up trying

Installing video drivers on linux can be like that at times in general.
Well ubuntu's the more user friendly end consumer distro in my experience. It's what you use when you want to use linux and impress all your non techy friends and use just to say you use linux and don't really know what you're doing well enough to use a lot of other distros.
Not to belittle it in anyway however. I've only used 3 distros, and i've only ever actually "USED" one, fedora.

Also good for "I need Linux to use this thing and I don't feel like spending an hour getting anything working"
The cops in Hot Pursuit seem dangerously nonchalant about the whole job. I smash in the front of my police sports car worth a few hundred thousand dollars, to push another sportscar worth just as much off a cliff for being over the speed limit by like 200 mph.
"Consider this a warning."
Yeah ok.
Man mus_berlin from Medal of Honor Allied Assault remains one of my favourite pieces of video game music ever.
It's so gooood.

Meanwhile in (The first) Most Wanted, they seemed nonchalant about the whole living thing, those cops were fucking insane :v:
The first most wanted was friggn amazing
I found an app that lets me use the camera flash on my phone like a strobe light

Race 07 AI is scary.
High Stakes was always my favorite NFS game. I think i still remember the cheats for the helicopter and the hot rod with the enormous back tires.

Nice. I wanted to get into photography. Any tips for a beginner?

I am going to assume you mean techniques. All I can really say is practice practice practice, along with much around with the settings on your camera to get the right shot.
Familiarize yourself with what each setting does, aperture, ISO, shutter speed etc. I'm not the greatest at explaining things to people, so that's really all I can help you out with.
Keep in mind, photography is a very expensive hobby and a majority of the time the more expensive a lens/body is, the better it will be. Although there are exceptions to this, just have to look around to find what best suits your budget as well. Asking on forums, looking for reviews on gear, sample images etc before you commit to buying anything.

Don't make the mistake he did and buy a camera from retail :v:
They'll gouge you for everything they can
Read up on Composition, the biggest thing about photography is how you position the shot
My floor has refluffinated quickly, I think it's my socks that do it... They're not even very fluffy, they just shed easily.
Suddenly a freak snowstorm closes school.
Wonder what I should do for today.

If you're just starting out, don't swamp yourself too much on the technical terms, and don't go rushing to buy tons and tons of gear that you won't need (you'll see a lot of gear fetishists do this). I started with a Nikon P510 and I'm still using it today, as it simply does everything I need and the pictures come out great.
A big part of photography is just by having a good eye for what would look good in a shot, how you'd position the shot, and so forth. Keep in mind I'm no expert, however.

A film camera? Well, I guess that could add some nostalgic value to the image, but bear in mind that you can't simply delete a bad photo and have to replace the film when needed.

A lot of people actually say that helps a lot when you're learning, because it stops you from "chimping", which is to take a thousand photos until you get the right one
It makes you think about what you're doing more, which helps you to learn how to take good photos

I know, film is slower than digital on getting photos out, i'm lucky people around here still develop films.
