Hey everyone :>

No solicitors.
The worst ones are the ones where everyone sits in silence the whole time and then when the card is chosen you here a very faint "good one" from somebody in Skype.
Actual occurrence, btw.
The best is when the Czar picks some really kinky answer and somebody in the call says "Oh of course you'd pick THAT"

So, you guys have experience with stolen shit like this?
None of my accounts seem to be affected but I'm going to change all my passwords and shit. So glad I got insurance on this thing, but it suuuuucks that I gotta buy a new case and SD card and I also lost like 200 pictures.
[editline]19th January 2014[/editline]
I don't want to dwell on it too much, though. I'm getting it replaced no problem, and I don't want a minor (albeit significant??) event to ruin my experience with my first convention.
Even if you guys aren't furries you should totally check out cons like this. There were plenty of panels for cool not-furry shit, a cool room to play games that you shouldn't go to because you'll get your phone jacked, incredibly nice, and supportive artists...
It's better than big anime cons like anime expo because they're not as... segmented. Like, two fans of anime could absolutely hate each other, but with furries that's less prevalent. There were a lot of tables in the dealer's den for non-furry stuff, too, like, this one artists sold me an Attack on Titan print, and another sold me a Deathstroke/Deadpool print. Shit's awesome.
Like, seriously, if there's any conventions within a few hours of you, go. Hella worth. I thought I wouldn't enjoy it that much but I did, even with the loss of my phone!

Luckier than another friend at a con, he had to replace his 8gb iPod nano
And the car window they smashed to get it
How did you get your phone stolen, isn't it in your pocket?

Phone was totally my fault, though. I was in the game room for a good two hours and got really careless and just left it on the table behind me to charge. Got up, played one round of Street Fighter, and boom. Gone.

Since you're asking.
I had my student apartment broken into while on holiday and about £5k worth of stuff was taken.
It was all insured but the psychological damage was the worst feeling, I'm sure you'll be able to relate. It's the feeling knowing that someone had exploited your trust in people and messed about with your personal belongings, all for malicious intent.
[editline]20th January 2014[/editline]
They were professionals too, they had been stalking me and knew exactly when I was going to be out of the country.

I know for a fact that the guy who stole it wasn't part of the main gaming group I was chilling with. The guys turned out their pockets and bags to see if it was there, and helped me basically turn the room inside out to find it while I was out reporting the loss to con ops. Tons of popular twitter users signal boosted the hell out of my tweet to the point where I heard random people in the con going "wow somebody stole this milkandcooki guy's phone." while I was searching around.
I'm not mad that I don't have my useful black rectangle, I'm mad that I was careless enough to leave my phone in the open and the fact that somebody there had the audacity to steal something like that. The people helping me out really cheered me up, though.
The only thing I had stolen was my Gameboy Advanced.
Having your phone stolen is a bigger deal, though.
Yeah, well it's a shittay happening for sure, good thing you've got insurance for it too. Shaddy people are everywhere and it's a shame.
But the best advice there, is always keep your phone(And wallet!) in your pocket, that way if someone actually pickpockets you, you'll at least feel it slide and be able to give appropriated facial damage to a theft attempt.

I had my GBA stolen when I was little too :'(

Holy shit, that's scary.
[editline]20th January 2014[/editline]
Also, sucks about your Gameboy. Mine was conned off me when someone lied about their grandmother dying and I gave them my GBA and games to cheer them up.

That is AWFUL, manipulating your selflessness.
Did you call them out on it?

No. Didn't find out that was a lie until Summer break that year. A friend of mine apparently got conned by him too with the same deal out of 10 dollars.
10 dollars was a LOT of money when you were in middle school.
No. Didn't find out that was a lie until Summer break that year.
Was it too late?
Was it too late?
At that point, yeah. Never showed back up again.
Only thing I've had stolen was my Nintendo pencil case that I left behind at uni by accident.
:c
Yeah. Enough of that, though. It sucks, my dad got mad at me, everybody felt bad and spent a lot of time they could've spent having fun looking for it, and that moron who stole it didn't get a lick of justice. I really don't want to think about it anymore, so direct any information you might have towards my twitter @milkncookiesss.
Oh yeah, here's some pictures I uploaded. Good thing I uploaded most of the good ones before the incident. More on the way from friends, too.

Me during a rousing conversation with artists about the weirdest people who have commissioned them. Black lady in the center of the image was working on some gross porn that somebody paid her 60 dollars (opposed to her normal 20) to do, I believe.

I met one of the coolest suiters ever, dogbomb. He's super charismatic and is great to be around.

I attended some panel for this ~erotic furry tcg~ and this card is hilarious. Spitty-Kitty is a female cat thing that has a dick with the mind of its own. If you want to know, the game's basically magic but with boners.
Will get pictures of some of the art I bought once I get a replacement phone.
When I was a kid my uncle had this little video poker machine you put pennies in it was awesome and could use it as a piggy bank. One day he gave it to me and we were packing it in the car to go back home and we went back inside to get other stuff and we realized it was gone with some pennies in it. We had left the door open for maybe 5 mins
But I still think my parents didn't want me having some kind of gambling machines at like 7 years old so it might have not been stolen.
I remember when some chubby kid and his abnormally tall sister just stole my brother's skateboard right off our fucking lawn when I was around 12 years old or so.
@milkandcooki
hint: next time, install cerberus, prey or any other antitheft app using titanium backup as a built-in program
if the thief is smart, they'll instantly ditch the SIM card and turn the phone off then restore it to factory settings in an inconspicuous location later but a lot of thieves aren't

This is why I have Avast Anti-Theft on my devices.
I don't have any anti-theft thing on my phones, I just keep them in my pocket and if someone dares try to pickpocket it, chances are I'll have manslaughter on my records.
That works too because I tend to give the vibe for that to people.
It's so frightening to see how many of my FB friends share this pic

My dad said he'd disappointed but he'll get a replacement soon. Only thing that sucks is having to buy a new 40 dollar case and a new SD card. Oh well, life goes on. At least I didn't get stabbed...?
People are such stupid sheeple, sometimes(All the time.)
This is why I have Avast Anti-Theft on my devices.
but unplugging the battery, ditching the SIM card and reflashing the OS in a public location like a coffee shop nullifies that
have used some fairly questionably acquired phones and they've all worked rather well with the SIM out
