Personally I hate endings like that, fallout 3 was a huge offender. [sp]You're the unstoppable redeemer/destroyer of the wasteland, it's time to fufill your destiny and commit suicide in a radiation booth, of course there's robots and radiation immune people who could do it, but no YOU have to go push the big button to save the world. Until you buy the DLC that retcons your death[/sp]

except in Elysium, while annoying and Space-Jesus-Died-For-You, it's explained why Max, the main character had to do it.

So it's not Fallout 3. Yes, the main char does what he does, but it isn't like "Oh there's capable people just they don't wanna LOL".

It was a good movie but I don't get why they thought giving everyone life saving medical care would fix anything? If anything it's going to make life worse for everyone because overpopulation is the source of all the suffering in that movie. Basically now they saved all the sick people there's going to be more people alive to suffer through poverty and make things worse by increasing the overpopulation.

It would have been better if he rebelled against the Elysium colonists for his own sake and left it as that.
