I don't know much about drugs, but I'm pretty sure heroin isn't in the same category as pot or coke. Besides, it's all about moderation. Anything can be abused.

There's dozens of illegal drugs that cause nowhere near the levels of harm to your body as Alcohol and Tobacco. The federal legalization of weed is just a matter of time now.

Well, Rubs, I hope you don't end up with any stress in your life while keeping up the habit, and that under the pressure of whatever future hardships might befall you, you keep strong and don't let it become your escape. I don't know what kinds of people become addicts, and what their circumstances or personalities were like which attributed to their becoming addicts, but heck I hope you ain't got the criteria. Drug use is really cool though generally. My uncle is a 60 year-old crack cocaine addict, looks about 90. He got into it in university as an escape from pressure from his course and the way he was being pushed through life. You don't seem like him, but I'm storytelling now, so hey. He was recently made to leave his drug-addict-friendly care home because his dealer came around trying to get to him, and was threatening to kill the staff. I don't know how someone can manage to get away with that without getting done by the police. Maybe a confidentiality or general fear thing. So yeah, I'm rather glad I'm some several hundred miles away from all that carry on. Also for the sake of mentioning it again, take drugs socially if you do. As it turns out, drugs can just kill you anyway even if they're not a lethal mix, as proven by my friend Pat who died while taking a 'safe' selection. Something to do with a sodium problem he didn't know he had. He was stupid and took them at home by himself. At least have a safety net of responsible friends for if things go wrong. You get bad cuts and stuff like that, as some people were saying to me. I'd rather not waste my breath telling you not to take drugs, but at least don't make it something you do by yourself. If you start getting the urge to do so, while having a night-in on the computer or something, realise that that's not a safe thing to do, and that surrendering to those kinds of temptations is a sign of a progressing problem. Additionally be with people who are responsible and sober and know where you are. No matter the drug, first time taking it you should do your best to eliminate any chance of a worst case scenario from happening.

And yes, I'll only be doing a small dose, and yes I'll have friends who will know what I'm doing and we take care of each other while drinking, so this won't be any different. And if you're that concerned, I only intend on doing it once for the experience. And while we're on the topic of conventions, if anyone is near the Kansas City area, I'll be at Naka-Kon(without drugs(besides alcohol)).

The problem is when you're shooting up in an unsanitary alley, or continually taking more and more to the point of addiction, which is easy to do because apparently the hangover is awful and people often take more to "cure" it.

I've got a living room, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom. The shower is quite big too. I could live here.
