Does any of you guys know any other gay person IRL? Because I don't and it makes me feel extremely lonely. It feels like this whole country is just filled with straigh guys and girls.
Some of my school friends are but it looks like they're just joking around or something like that. One of them likes slapping guys butts and asking them if they want to have sex. None of them seem to wear anything pink but I've heard them talk about doing gay things. Not that it makes them any less of friends to me.

It's weird because everyone around me seems to know at least 3-4 gay people from conversing with them, but I don't think I've ever really had a conversation with a gay person irl (outside of meetups)
I need a refund on my gaydar.
Sooo, tomorrow will be the first day at the new job.
I am excite!
Still unsure if I should fix up real nice, but it's a laid back place. I went to my interview in a biker jacket and motorcycle boots, sporting serious stubble. I did wear a nice shirt though.
Also I have bronchitis as of now, the 20 minute bicycle ride might be a bit harsh on my health but you just don't call in sick on the first day, that's an absolute no-go.
I'm very curious how it'll turn out
Well the guy I like told me he was gay a few weeks back, and obviously I took that opertunity to tell him, now just gotta 'man up' and ask da important question...
Not sure how I didn't discover the IFPL sooner. Turns out there -are- furries in my hometown.

Nobody even uses that any more, check out the local forums for local meets and stuff. I can guarantee there's at least 90% more.

I accidentally typed UKFur, oops.

Found two on IFPL that had joined less than a couple months ago. It's barely used, but it's the first thing that actually got me results. CenArkFurs is in kind of a dead period, and there's really no local meets here.

I don't think the type of furries to register on an international furry list would be the kind of people that you would want to meet, but that might just be me.

Considering Disgruntled is one of those people, he's probably in safe company. That is if he himself isn't the danger you speak of.
Headline of today's news:
"Son of [local actor celebrity] committed suicide because of his homosexual orientation."
This country is like cursed when it comes to being significantly different from others.

Insert Breaking Bad joke here.

I'm on it
... :(
I was like this a few years ago. I was the only person I knew of who was gay (in person) till I was about 17-18. First person I met that I knew was gay was my ex, when I drove several states over to meet up with him. Didn't really work out mostly because he was long distance anyways. It did get lonely.
Then I ended up meeting my current BF online who only lived an hour or so away, and last year we've met SO many awesome gay people and gay couples that we've known online for a while, really makes me feel apart of a family that understands you more than your actual family did. Its like once I've had a boyfriend for a while (especially since he holds no real social timidness... for better or for worse :v:) and once I got a bit older we just did a ton of outreach/visiting/travel/convention-going with people we knew and got to meet up with great people. Its so much more comfortable doing stuff like that for me with someone by your side to help you "reach for the stars" so to speak.
And speaking of family, my actual family I've grown closer to as well as of recent, and its not like they don't reject me or anything. I guess I always just felt naturally distant from them for being the way I was growing up but there isn't reason to be like that anymore for me, or something.
Where the fuck do you work to actually get freetime to travel?
Where did you go to school?
Do you have a degree for anything?
Like seriously jesus christ
Some of you people make meeting people seem like the easiest thing in the world, that acquiring mountains of real life friends can carelessly be obtained through thin air. Some of you sound like my mom when she says she knows people because "she went outside and talked to strangers." Even with meeting people you've known online. I've met like 3 local friends I've met online and every time was just an awkward silent encounter I wish that lasted shorter. I don't think many 'normal' people understand how difficult some people with social anxiety can get.
I'm never going to understand how people can so easily just talk to people. It takes a lot of effort for me to just open my mouth
You are seriously overthinking friends man. It's not rocket science.
person + rocket fuel / quantum friendo theory of 1943 * food = friend

Breaks apart and ruins everything?

His name IS Disgruntled. That sounds pretty dangerous to me.

You ever seen one of those things? You would be heterophobic too if you ever met one. Chilling.
Hey so some people here have been really nice and supportive over me getting dumped, feeling a lot better really, I mean I'm kinda annoyed seeing as I've been waiting for someone for so long and I really feel like I deserved something, but hey, I'm just gonna pick myself up and move on, look at my suit

Talking to people with words in person is exactly like talking to people with text on the internet, except even fewer people hear it and it's nowhere near as permanent.
You seem pretty eloquent, just channel that into your conversations with real people, it's literally less "risky" than saying things here.
I assume you talk all the time at your job so that's practice right there

Aw, it's alright man. You got experience under your belt now and trust me, it will help you in the future.

Social skills are just like any other skills. If you work at it, you'll get better. You just need the desire to do it, and reading a few books on the subject helps as well.

Adding to this:
Liking yourself really helps boost your confidence which helps boost your social skills.

just for the love of god kalamari don't get caught up in that pickup artist bullshit, it doesn't teach you confidence it teaches you to treat other people like shit
Do any of you feel that you have fantastic real world social skills but terrible e-social skills? I'm going to school for something that relies heavily on interpersonal communication and yet online conversations lack substance and seem silly to me
