Yes this is normal.
I'm pretty much a class clown, and most teachers love me. Online it's pretty easy to for me to piss people off, depending on how serious they take things.
That alarm sound from the Stanley Parable (from the [sp]confusion ending[/sp]) is apparently something extremely scary to me.
Hearing it makes everything else seem scary for some reason and it's really silly but oh my god.
just fuck that thing

Potentially going out to dinner with a guy next weekend. Nothing relationship-related, just getting to know each other.
just for the love of god kalamari don't get caught up in that pickup artist bullshit, it doesn't teach you confidence it teaches you to treat other people like shit
x1000 this.
If you're gay then it might be easier to avoid getting sucked in, since they're also pretty heteronormative and attract plenty of homophobes.

I'm bad at texting, and I prefer irl conversations.
Being online lacks body language, facial expression, and quicker responses. It's quite a bit different.
Just you guys all watch Westboro church end up being some sort of deep elaborate government experiment on social mobility or something. I sometimes question how such groups of people can even exist for so long.
In most countries westboro would have 'shut down' and all it's members would have mysteriously vanished long ago. :v:

Um, alright. I doubt that's the case, but if that's what you want to believe, good luck.
Jeez you guys aren't fun at all. I posted something out of the box that would be cool and crazy to think about and you dismiss me with a snip and an under-the-breath "urcrazy."
You guys should be fun and add on to cool and exotic topics like that. Not shush it away.
gosh, all the dildo and smallertalk gets old sometimes
well the dildo and small talk is what this thread is about 90% of the time.

I dont see what this refers to. But I know it's that "durr i'm retarded" image. So i'm just going to say that it's rude to call other people names and I suggest you not post something like this again. Some people could find it offensive. :-(

An echo chamber is never a good thing.

I'm the opposite. I've finally gotten over my fear of talking to strangers (working in customer service has eliminated that). However, I'm still awkward and frequently lose train of thought listening and speaking to people. Like memory loss bad. I will often lose place when people are spelling their name or all of sudden I forget what I want to say mid sentence. Its horrible and embarrassing. That might be related to physical health issues though.
At least with text based chat, I can reflect on what has been said to get myself up to speed and really think about what I'm going to say.
Just that much took me 4 minutes to type out and correct/reword.
Kalamari, you should really just stop.
Personally I find real-life encounters a lot easier, you can actually see the person, interact with them, and also you're not really inside a house (if you agreed to meet in a park or something), so if anything around you happens, you can point it out and you have a new subject for conversation. It's much more dynamic in my opinion.
However most people I met, I did through internet. :v:

We really don't talk about dildos that much. It just seems like we do because each time anyone mentions one its a split reaction and leads to drama.
Shit, forgot to mention we were on the pi page earlier.
I've made a lot of friends I've met through the internet, friends in person. Nerdrage is one of them.
A lot of my internet friends live in other countries though. Some of them I've been chatting to for so long I've invited them to events on Facebook, then realised "Oh wait it would be a bit hard for them to get here". Get to visit some this year though, pretty much confirmed that I'm leaving here on the 17th of October for the USA.

i'm not calling you retarded if that's actually the message you're getting from that
it's also probably not likely you'd know this but most of the time i don't really care about offending people anyway; i suggest you not post anything like what you post 90% of the time again, some people could find it annoying. especially when you don't listen to what countless posts by numerous people about what to do and just go on and on and make it worse for yourself sometimes
Where the fuck do you work to actually get freetime to travel?
Where did you go to school?
Do you have a degree for anything?
Like seriously jesus christ
Some of you people make meeting people seem like the easiest thing in the world, that acquiring mountains of real life friends can carelessly be obtained through thin air. Some of you sound like my mom when she says she knows people because "she went outside and talked to strangers." Even with meeting people you've known online. I've met like 3 local friends I've met online and every time was just an awkward silent encounter I wish that lasted shorter. I don't think many 'normal' people understand how difficult some people with social anxiety can get.
I'm never going to understand how people can so easily just talk to people. It takes a lot of effort for me to just open my mouth
Summer break mostly, and winter break.
Still in school, university.
Meeting people takes practice, its that simple. Pizza delivery is one of the best jobs I've ever gotten because I was forced to meet people in short encounters a whole bunch and it got me used to it in short, controlled, meaningless encounters with people. After meeting new people I've known about enough times I just got used to it enough to not give a real fuck if I make a good impression or not because all that really matters is being sincere and true with yourself. You can't really understand exactly what it means to be in that mindset without actually doing it though. Its one of those things that you can't learn by being told, only by learning through doing. All it is in the end is just becoming comfortable and confident in oneself even if that means you're not the type of guy who is comfortable with a load of friends or meeting people.
Even then, you might just be really introverted. Perhaps the secret for you isn't meeting people its accepting yourself and your social boundaries for what they are being totally okay with that. Perhaps it is meeting people and you really just need more practice doing it. You're the only one who can figure it out for yourself in the end as we are all different.

Don't go to New Jersey, you'll never escape.
I've had a good time with homework by laying instrumental music over battle ambiance form games :v: .
I'm serious. My favourite combination was Apocalyptica's 'Nothing Else Matter's cover laid on top of some Medal of Honor Normandy ambiance.
Came out p. well.

Sounds like you should mash them together and post it for us.
Had to pause my coop game for 'urgent stuff' my parent says.
It's a dead mouse in the pool. How very urgent :v:
