Watching Bargain Hunt immediately added an extra 50 years to my age.
Try watching antiques roadshow, next thing you know I can't remember what year it is
Try watching antiques roadshow, next thing you know I can't remember what year it is
Antiques Roadshow doesn't have the same excitement or thriller value as Bargain Hunt. I just wait for the hammer to drop. [editline]2nd March 2014[/editline]
Watching Bargain Hunt immediately added an extra 50 years to my age.
Yeah, I have to agree. Living that much that fast can leave you feeling really drained.
After seeing Toddlers In Tiaras made me lose all hope.
Ah, well, generally Danish TV isn't as unsalvageable as American TV (although it evidently isn't in a good shape either)
Soo ermm. I'm going to be getting my first "toy" soon. [sp]Is water lube good or not? I have no idea. also I'm getting a fleshlight.[/sp]
If your toy is silicone, don't use silicone lube. Also, water lube will wash off in the shower. Here's a neat comparison chart http://www.tressugar.com/Differences-Between-Oil-Water-Silicone-Based-Lubricants-838310 I prefer silicone myself.
I use silicone cause it doesn't dry out or get absorbed by skin. Also shower sex.
This has become a recent topic of interest to me: Why the heck do people ride fixed gear bikes? I park my hunkajunk peugeot roadbike my dad purchased with a bottle of vodka next to shiny fixies with custom neon spokes and lightweight frames every day. yet, on the road, i overtake so many huffing hipsters on the slight hills on the city center it's pretty apparent they're trash for getting around or getting fit, and they really wouldn't look any worse if they had some gears on them, why would someone pay so much for an inferior bike?
So you'll probably never see my post but: It's because it's fun, especially if you ignore the people who use their bikes as fashion accessories. I used a fixed gear which I added a freewheel to and changed to a single speed and it's good fun and keeps you really fit, you also instinctively go faster to maintain momentum since you can't rely on gears so you get places quicker, you think "if I go faster, this hill will be over sooner" rather than "oh, a hill, better just go into low gear and wait to ride it out". I found myself going much faster than every other cyclist in the city. Not having to worry about gears is a thing as well, so much nicer. [editline]2nd March 2014[/editline] Also the bikes are cheaper, lighter, and more reliable. [editline]2nd March 2014[/editline]
Hahaha. Ok so I need help, in my job interview I've got 5 minutes to impress them, apparently the only rule is no powerpoint, people before have sung to them and read poems, what on earth do I do? The job, if it helps, is working as a sales assistant in the computer department of a big electronics store

Act confident, use your hands when talking and practice.
Tell them why they should hire you, tell them why you're confident you'r their guy and tell about past experiences which make you suited for the job. Act confident, use your hands when talking and practice.
Whilst that does sound like a good idea, the brief they gave me was so really vague and it just leaves me confused
‘5 Minutes to Impress’ This activity is exactly what it sounds like. You will have 5 minutes to impress us! Sometimes you might leave an interview feeling like you haven’t had an opportunity to really sell yourself. We would like to give you the chance to really let us know who you are, what makes you special and unique, and why we simply must offer you the chance to join our team. There are no restrictions (but one... no PowerPoint please) – you can talk about / do anything you like whether it is work related or a passion outside of work.
Make your knowledge of computers very, very well known. Talk to them about building, and make sure to talk confidently even if you're wrong, and really try to engage the people who're watching / interviewing you - you don't want a 5 minute monologue that says you know computers, you also want them to know you're well suited to working with customers and talking with new people every shift. Whenever I get to talk to a potential new hire at work I like to look for their people skills rather than their service know-how.
Whilst that does sound like a good idea, the brief they gave me was so really vague and it just leaves me confused
What I said still sounds like exactly what they want. When I said "tell about past experiences" it fits into what they said about "passion outside of work". It's a job interview, you're not there to try and entertain them.
Whilst that does sound like a good idea, the brief they gave me was so really vague and it just leaves me confused
Much like Saza discuss, talk about your skill and knowledge, as this is what they hire for. As a way to demonstrate, you can gives example of completed, ongoing or planned projects. It's rather dependent on the context but even if what you did isn't really related to computer or w/e you can demonstrate that you're diligent and willing to work. If you're really out of things to say you can plug-in how much you know or want to know about the company you work for. Showing interest to the corporation makes it look like you're here for more than "because you're offering a job", even if that might be the case.
TV has Top Gear. Are you disrespecting Top Gear?
I don't even like cars very much, but Top Gear is some top quality entertainment.
I watch a lot of TV shows, but never when they air on TV originally.
The only live TV I watch anymore is sports, and even then I can't be bothered to actually pay for cable, myself. Just not worth it.
I couldn't see myself paying for TV on my own terms.
Once I move out, I want to get a TV for the only reason to play console games. But here you still have to pay TV tax if you own a TV.
rosebud;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;! Then build everything.
I'm quite late to this but i was busy working this weekend. if you add an extra ; at the end so it'll look like rosebud;!;!;!;!;!;!;; and hit enter, you get an error stating it's not a valid entry but you will still get all the money and the field never closes so you literally just tape your enter key down for like 3 minutes and you get infinite money, or like a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge amount. Also with all this coffee talk going on without me i'd say you guys are trying to squeeze me out as coffee king. Shit ain't gonna happen.

A wonder how that kind of thing managed to get around when I was younger, considering I would just rely on word-of-mouth for that kind of info.
I check CNN from time to time for foreign and national news. and then CLTV (Chicago News Station) for local news.
It kinda annoys me that the BBC covers American news and what the US is doing. I would consider the UK's news more important, but, apparently not.
I check CNN from time to time for foreign and national news. and then CLTV (Chicago News Station) for local news.
If you want quality world news, I'd skip the American news companies and watch/read BBC world news. I literally have no idea what you're talking about anyway, I've noticed it usually lacks reporting about the USA. [editline]2nd March 2014[/editline] There is literally nothing about the USA on the front page of world news right now. The BBC has a legal obligation to be impartial when reporting as well, something which is exceedingly rare.
I meant on the telly. I literally just got up from what appeared to be the US' movements on Ukraine. EDIT: That said, I don't watch the bloody thing a lot. Maybe I'm just unlucky.

www.aljazeera.com is a pretty unbiased place for getting news too. Contains more international news than other websites I know of. God save you all if you've ever witnessed CNNs American frontpage, it's like a PEOPLE magazine.
