Sounds like my school life.
Now it's 5am instead :v:
(also jesus i ended up having something else ordered using DHL for shipping and within 2 hours it got from Ohio to the East Midlands. When they say DHL Express they really damn mean it huh)
I've been trying to sort out my sleeping pattern through self restraint and just getting to it. But as always you're just kept awake by thinking. Good thing is that, instead of like the old days when I'd mull over whatever angsty subject I was dealing with back then, I'm mulling over trivial shit like the existence of a 4th dimension and whether we'd be able to see it or not (which we wouldn't I guess, but only see the results of objects or creatures moving in 4 dimensions, but not being able to understand it, because we just can't see in 4 dimensions.
I watched this weird movie a couple weeks ago, which was an adaptation of the book Flatland, and it was pretty good for describing it all and giving you a whole lot to chew on. I bought the book and it arrived today, so I'm happy about that. It's about the 2-dimensional A. Square and his adventures meeting 1-dimensional line creatures and 0-dimensional point creatures, as well as his complete inability to understand a 3-dimensional world, leading him to question whether there is a 4th dimension, to which the 3-dimensional creatures laugh and cast his idea aside, quite like he did when A. Sphere came to visit him, and picked him up out of his home of Flatland.
It's a bit of fun to think about.
Here's the weird movie with cheesy 3D animation

What I know will go over my head is the fact that this book is also a parody of Victorian society, which leads to the fact this is a book from 1884, which is weird considering it's so strange in its subject-matter.
Blogpunch.
Sometimes I wonder if lucid dreaming isn't just an overactive imagination modifying memories of the dreams after they happen
Because apparently I'm the only person on the internet that can't do it

It's 4:30am and I'm laying here posting on fp
Do you have f.lux? And do you only use your bedroom for sleeping?
I've been up until 2am or later for the past 5 months. I really have no incentive to go to bed earlier as I love the nighttime. The only thing that shits me off if that I'm not allowed to drive between 12-5am, so can't go for a drive for food when I feel like it between those hours. It's going to suck when I eventually get a full-time job though, having to get my sleeping pattern back in order.
Also, accidentally hit the screenshot button while mucking around with google hangouts, I look horrified.

I tried flux once and for some reason it gave me the worst motion sickness (or something) of my life
I could not physically look at the monitor for more than a few seconds in the evening without nearly barfing
I can't stand flux because I'm a pretenious designer type and the idea of my monitor not displaying as close to true colors at all times of the day frightens me
If my monitor is bothering me at night I either turn the brightness down or turn the lights on, or stop using my monitor so much at night :v:

I think I might have had one, but it was just really a dream where I was aware that things weren't as they should be. Flatmates were making a racket irl, and then I slept and it started off in the dream where they woke me up and I found out my bedroom door was off the hinges. It got progressively stranger in that things weren't where they should be, and I was aware of that, and I thought I'd lost the plot entirely, and started acting pretty realistically to the whole thing. In the end I think it was just a homesickness dream, because I could never find the door back to my room, and it always lead to different corridors until eventually it was my own room and my dad was there.
That's one of the few dreams that I had that I can recall to a pretty good level of detail.

Do you have a curfew? Like some kind of ankle bracelet that people get because it's against the rules of their parole. What did you do to deserve this?
One thing that helps me to fall asleep is to think of something very dull, like reciting the names of things in my head. I also turn off all light sources so that there's nothing distracting me.

I should probably keep this in mind to keep me from solving all my life problems over and over in my head.

All new drivers aren't allowed to drive between 12-5am for the first six months of having their licence. The fine is $375 and 3 demerit points, leaving me with one left for however long it would be until that 6 month period is up.
It is extremely dumb, I can drive any car I want, turbo, V8, manual whatever. Drive at any speed up to the speed limit (or as fast as I want on unrestricted roads), but I'm not allowed to drive between 12-5am, where there would be the least amount of other drivers on the road. The curfew doesn't apply when I am learning to drive though.

Also I'm held mostly at fault in any crash I am involved in, regardless if I get rear ended at a set of red lights.
I've become addicted to Killer Instinct.

What are you talking about? Never heard of such thing as 'sleep'.
In related news, none of you people can sleep
Speak for yourself. I can sleep anywhere anytime.
I sleep like a rock
I usually sleep really well but that's usually because I'm exhausted, although I've learned meditating helps me fall asleep faster.
I sleep generally ok from time to time. It's only when I don't do anything all day is when I can't sleep.
I want a ball python but my BF hates snakes ;~;

Tell him to get over it. Also 1 more post until 16,666 that's an interesting post count.
I concur - get a cat. Even though my cat is fat, lazy, scared of practically everything, loves jumping on my desk and scaring the hell out of me when I'm playing F.E.A.R (spooky ooo), refuses to move and makes a seat out of my keyboard, sits on my duave at midnight and refuses to get off it when I want to get to sleep and then clawing at my toes at 3 AM because he needs to scratch something.. uhh.. I forget where I was going with this.
