CSGO why do you tease me with these fake ready sounds.
Reminds me of when an admin would play the steam message sound in a DarkRP server You'd just watch everyone freeze up for a moment to check :v:
Not as bad as radio adverts that play traffic sounds like sirens and horns.
Same with chatlog posts or screenshot posts.
Wait you mean that one conversation I had in a group chat with people nobody knows except me isn't fucking hilarious and needs to be shared? Fuck it's like I've been living a lie
Not as bad as radio adverts that play traffic sounds like sirens and horns.
I don't understand how those are legal, they're really distracting if you're driving
I don't understand how those are legal, they're really distracting if you're driving
Because nobody forces you to listen radio.
Because nobody forces you to listen radio.
..Well no-one forces you to use your phone or drink and drive but those aren't legal?
Because nobody forces you to listen radio.
My old car radio was broken and stuck on a channel and I had lost the volume knob so yes I was quite literally forced to listen to the radio.
Radio doesn't really distract people when driving anyway, after you've been driving for long enough. It even helps, since driving can become such second nature that in order to remain alert you need to have something to occupy the restless part of your mind, and half-mindedly listening to the radio can do that. I suppose adverts with horns and stuff would grab your attention, maybe too much. I suppose the risk isn't high enough for them to not allow it on radio. Bit of a cheap trick really, since drivers will be sensitive to those kinds of sounds, and it's a way of getting the driver's attention on the radio while they drive. Not sure if BBC radio stations have adverts though tbh.
Yes, yes, tell the world of our superior British entertainment stations muahaha Soon they will all be skeleton jelly

Also it shouldn't be that hard to tell difference from the sound that comes from the radio or sound that comes outside your vehicle. Of course if you go around with radio full blast you won't be hearing nothing than your radio.
one of the things i'm looking forward to when i move out is getting better internet. I'm heavily dissatisfied with comcast and have been pressing my parents to move away from them or even upping the service. However they refuse to budge because we get our cable and phone from them as well so we get additional deals. Even though those 'additional deals' only offer us pretty much 5 dollars in savings over dropping comcast as an ISP and getting something even like Fios. It only looks decent because i ran this test at 3 am when NO ONE ELSE IN MY HOUSE IS USING IT. During the day even if im still the only one using it you can expect about 5.50 Mb/s down.
Same here, my parents switched FROM fios to comcast to save like $10. Now my internet is utter shit, but hey we have HBO free for like 3 months.
Have you never driven?
Yes, it is literally only way to get from place A to place B where I live atm because there are no any sort of public transportation available.
Even with my headphones blasting metal into my ear as I play vidya I sometimes think I hear my parents yelling at me from downstairs in the madness. Is your car soundproof perchance?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/LyR0Xu9.jpg[/t] Ahhhhhh I found this for 20$ 2 controllers, and all the wires. [editline]6th June 2014[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/ubvSaeX.jpg[/t] Cleaned it all off :D
I got a classic guitar from this charity shop I work at for £10 (volunteer discount got it down to £9). Found spare strings in a pocket in the old worn out case it came in. Now I just need to learn how to tune and play a guitar.

This is where I'd post the N64 I have boxed up in my apartment, but I'm at work. More controllers, more games for playing with friends, free from Christmas years ago.
I'd take a photo of the consoles but they're all in storage and I don't have an inch of clean table-space in my entire room. Xbox/PS1/Fat PS2, though.
The only sucky thing is that the good will I was at had no games nor a composite cable. Its gonna be a couple weeks before I can actually play the system. I'm so stoked to start collecting stuff though.
I play N64 games by connecting my phone to the TV and using the a PS3 controller over bluetooth.
I bought a whole bunch of NES games including a zapper for around $5. The games were priced at 20c each.
so I found some pieces of paper on my bookshelf [t]http://i.imgur.com/6V2T6AA.jpg[/t]
Enable 3D mode in rad racer, only play it this way from now on
I bought a whole bunch of NES games including a zapper for around $5. The games were priced at 20c each.
Does the Zapper work? those things barely ever work nowadays
Does the Zapper work? those things barely ever work nowadays
If you're trying to use a Zapper or other light gun on a flatscreen, it'll never work.
Does the Zapper work? those things barely ever work nowadays
It does work really well, but like Qaus said I can't use it on an LCD. I actually used to have the perfect CRT TV to use, but I had to bin it a few years ago.
So yeah, disaster has struck. I'm in a very terrible situation. See, there's this person I've been in a very close and intimate long-distance relationship over the past year. This person has had a very dark past, involving things I'd rather not speak about that have left him with a great number of extreme anxieties and permanently unable to work a regular job. In the last couple of days, a few negative things have happened to him, socially, he lost two good friends and now there's me left. The final straw was an invitation to a health check, related to his unemployment that he is forced to undergo. He is morbidly afraid of doctors and strangers, especially men seeing him undressed or, god forbid, touching him, related to terrible things that have been done to him. He fears this like death. We were just about to brighten his mood when those news came in and I felt him collapse. I'm afraid he might be suicidal. I immediately suggested coming over, at least over the weekend. We got into a fight because I mentioned that I might have to go back to check in for work and take some time off, effectively leaving for 3 days before coming back around. Receiving visitors is a difficult subject for him as well, so the possibility of leaving again put him off the idea and he explicitly said I cannot come. I could call my boss and explain the situation, surely he'd let me go. But If I visit him, he would sink even deeper and I do NOT want to do the one thing that pushes him over the edge. I could call the police, but the thought of cops at his house would worsen the situation immensely. If he's not suicidal now, he very well might be after police have showed up, and he fears intruders of any sort, I don't want to add that to the list of things that went wrong that could push him over the edge. He's with his mother now, at home. He's online so I know he's doing fine. I'm writing him, but I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do. He's been in similar situations in the past and made it through alone, I'm not really sure if I should desperately try to 'help' and make everything worse and turn what is possibly not yet serious into a matter of life and death. I want to do something, I want to leave right now and appear at his doorstep but that might very well be the last thing I want to do if I really want to help. I'm just such a wreck at this moment, I can't grab one solid thought and everything is spinning. I don't want to do the one thing that kills him. But I also don't want to do nothing and regret it. There's no choice I can live with if it goes wrong. Can I really leave this to him and his mum? We often talked about this subject, I've been in contact with various kinds of suicidal people in the past. He's said that he doesn't want to do it at all, because of his mother, although he had situations like this before. I don't know. I know nothing, what's right, what's wrong. Visiting him is bad, Sitting here is killing me and any authority showing up would very well be the final nail in the coffin. This is killing me. [editline]7th June 2014[/editline] I mean, if he still has the energy to worry and fight over whether I should come over or not with a strong opinion, could he really care little enough about everything to commit suicide?
Honestly he sounds kind of fucked. I don't mean to say that in a derogitory manner or anything, but someone in that situation and who has developed these serious mental issues (I would describe him as doing that) needs actual professional help for a longer period of time to help get his life on track. There is literally nothing you can really do what won't make him feel more hurt other than letting him know that you care and support him, and continuing to be a good friend. Its one of those things that comes off as, "I'm unemployed but too scared to get a job and even if I had one I can't work ever anyways, also I went through an extremely traumatizing event when I was younger and as such this has caused me to lose friends but I can't meet new friends because of my extreme social anxiety but yet can't handle when people leave me alone to myself" Thats the kind of thinking that someone who is pretty mentally and emotionally damaged would go through. No shame in that, its really sad that he has ended up like this. But the only solution is really for him to seek professional help in helping him get through his problems so he can live a life that he can actually function well independantly in. That's the exact situation that social workers/phsycs/therapists/etc are there for - helping people who are pretty broken get it back together. He's lucky that he was able to befriend someone like yourself who was able to see through his problems and still want to interact with him despite them. But realize that can be dangerous for someone in his situation and the only real solution for him if he truly is as mentally broken down as you make him come off as is for him to get professional help.
