Okay? That person is happy doing what they enjoy. Why should anybody give a shit if it's strange?
"why should anyone give a shit at all" should be a guidelines to follow if you're a brony/furry/weaboo/whatever because who actually gives a flying fuck if you're any of those, no one cares. ie I don't hate bronies, I hate people who won't shut the fuck up about it.
Just because someone is happy doing something doesn't mean I can't give them shit for doing it in public. Go around a mall with a giant pink tutu and a banana suit and people are gonna look at you weird and judge you, doesn't mean you're right because you enjoy it
Okay, so talk shit on that specific person, not the entire fandom of what they enjoy. Seriously, I'm gonna use this analogy again because it fits like a glove, that's like hating all gays because of that one super flamboyant, leather-wearing guy you saw walking down the street. [editline]19th June 2014[/editline]
it literally is escapism, and not good escapism. People will fall back to hobbies to take the edge of life off and relax. Some people fill holes with these hobbies are get too involved in them and it negatively impacts them. They seek acceptance elsewhere and find it in the form of a child's tv show. Same things goes for a large chunk of furries. Pretty much as long as it does not invade your actual life, or impair you from being a normal functioning adult there isn't a problem. But people will judge you, and people will judge you for anything. If you parade around your obsession and rub it in people faces and get adversity, don't cry about it because at that point you brought it on yourself. Maintain a balance, you can be proud of liking something, but don't rub it in peoples faces and expect everyone to take it no questions asked.
The majority of bronies are perfectly functioning members of society.
Okay, so talk shit on that specific person, not the entire fandom of what they enjoy.
It's easier to say "I generally hate bronies" than it is say "I hate the following people:"
It's easier to say "I generally hate bronies" than it is say "I hate the following people:"
Usually the term used to describe doing that is "being a hateful asshole."

[editline]19th June 2014[/editline] The majority of bronies are perfectly functioning members of society.
You saying they are is absolute no different from me saying they aren't. Neither of us can vouch for the population. From my experiences, and these are anecdotal and not applicable on an objective basis, most bronies can barely function in real life. I've had to kick folks out from my work who were bronies because someone insulted them and they broke down in the middle of a theatre. I've had someone threated to fight someone else for making fun of their shirt and ended up calling the cops.
Actually, I can vouch for the population, because I'm involved with a lot of them. Sure, you get your occasional super-obsessed, mentally unstable guy who has actual problems to the point of not being able to function correctly, but that is seriously the minority. The majority of bronies are regular people. They just like to do pony-related things when they get home from work.
Shark Bones did you know most people who "hate" bronies watch or used to watch MLP:FIM?
Actually, I can vouch for the population, because I'm involved with a lot of them. Do you have contact with every brony ever? do you have contact even with the majority? What i'm trying to say is that i've encountered more than enough people to back up my claim, and you met plenty of people to back up your claim. But neither of us can conclusively say one thing over the other due to our own anecdotal experiences.
How about we just stop. There is obviously no end to this argument.
And it all comes down to the same conclusion for me: Hating someone for liking something you don't is a dickbag move.
And it all comes down to the same conclusion for me: Hating someone for liking something you don't is a dickbag move.
yeah that's not what this is about.
And it all comes down to the same conclusion for me: Hating someone for liking something you don't is a dickbag move.
that's not what this argument was about or at least what seemingly most of us were talking about.
yeah that's not what this is about.
Actually, it's exactly what it's about.
What about we take this discussion somewhere like a steam group chat or something like that so we don't end up fully shit posting this thread with this subject.
Yeah there are some regular bronies and there are some really strange bronies. I don't blame people who say "I hate bronies" because I know they meant the more annoying bronies. If they actually meant every single person who watches the show then I also don't blame them because the weirder bronies made them hate it. Like personally I have a negative disposition towards people who are bronies that I know of when I shouldn't know of. When someone says to me "I'm a brony" i'm like "okay who cares (no one)" Same kinda goes for furries. Most people here think I hate furries just because they're furries when that's not the case. I just hate the more irritating furries.
I've honestly seen absolutely no valid points made by the "it's okay to hate bronies" brigade. So I'm just gonna stop, there's no way this discussion is gonna go anywhere it seems.

Maintain a balance and there is no problem, but if you plaster it about don't cry when you experience adversity. It will happen it will always happen. Hell you can have an avatar of your favorite band or sports team and you someone will give you shit for it. The subject itself does not matter.

Its not just the outspoken and flamboyant bronies that commonly get adversity, it's ALL of them.
As I said be kind and take this conversation to somewhere else like for example steam chat, really people who wake up will just end up finding 100 new posts and all are about some nonsense rambling.
As I said be kind and take this conversation to somewhere else like for example steam chat, really people who wake up will just end up finding 100 new posts and all are about some nonsense rambling.
Isn't nonsense rambling commonly what goes on in internet forums like these? I mean, most of the time this thread isn't exclusively talking about gay things, anyway. In my experience, people tend to just discuss what they want here.
But that's not what commonly happens. You can keep being brony a secret but if someone finds out, you'll automatically be subject to ridicule and torment. Its not just the outspoken and flamboyant bronies that commonly get adversity, it's ALL of them.
Not really no, like i even told you in Drachen. A few of my friends love the show, but if you try to call them bronies or ask them if they're bronies they will laugh at you. If you try to give them shit for watching the show they also won't give a shit, but the thing is, they don't give you a reason to give you shit for watching it because they don't plaster it everywhere. No matter what you do, it can be anything, you will get someone who thinks its dumb. If you get to meet that person and they give you shit about it, that's their problem not yours. Move on. Take after my friends, don't make yourself a target and if you do get shit, don't feed the idiot and become defensive over something so trivial. It's just stupid. I'm also aware of the irony. So far between talking to you here and on Drachen i have to side with Bat. You're just largely refuting everything being told to you and only look at things from a very subjective angle and not factoring anything else in.

Guys, can you just not have this discussion? It always gets out of hand...
mlp is subpar to glorious nippon animationé u shuld feel bad
That's because in my experience, everything you've said is false.
and everything in my experience says you're false. Do you see the problem with how your logic yet?
Yeah the problem is you guys are still talking about this.
and everything in my experience says you're false. Do you see the problem with how your logic yet?
No, not really, since we both seem to have come to the same conclusion and nobody's opinions have changed.
