Welp, managed to somehow roll out of my futon and land square onto the back of my head. Now I gotta try and get back to sleep with a throbbing headache.
This is why I need a king size :v:
How hard did you kick it? I need details.
Mum called me over because the lock on her ensuite door had broken and she was locked from it. I came over and saw her finagling with the lock using a screwdriver and pushing it and generally wrecking it in an attempt to get it open.
Ten or twenty minutes ensued of me doing the same thing, until we both give up on that and start talking about how they'll need to use a precision cutter to cut through the door to the other side.
But then I just went "Hold on, lemme kick it in." And so I did. Several times. Didn't budge, Mum was like "Nah don't worry about it." But I was insistent and I did it once. The door creaked and felt loose. And so I did a mighty kick again and the door flew open, splinters and bits of wood flying everywhere, shattered pieces of the handle and lock strewn all over the room.
I quickly hid my surprise (because I certainly wasn't expecting it to work) and just said "Well there ya go."

Usually it's just easier to take the doorknob off and open it from the inside
When ours break, you just twist the back plate off (That metal disk behind the knob) until it comes off, pull the metal pin out, then turn it with a flat screwdriver
I didn't suck a dick today, but I did manage to kick a door whose lock had busted open.
Find a dick to suck and that will be one damn productive day!
If anyone was here I'd certainly do a house call

Does sucking your own dick make you productive member of society?

I like to think so.
I guess I'm not a productive member of society then :(

D'aaawr :C
So, I already said here few times that my PC is shit and lately it's been getting progressively worse. I thought I hit the peak yesterday with realization that I can't play any Source based game and the fact barely any programs now functions the way it's supposed to. But I was fucking wrong.
In short, my computer got infected by a virus.
I was confused at first because I thought I had my antivirus up so what the hell was going on? But apparently, Microsoft is so much into advertising their newer OSs (I am still using XP on my desktop), that Microsoft Essentials doesn't work anymore on XPs. The first day XP was declared as no longer supported OS, a message from Essentials popped up, saying that OS is out dated which might affect my security. I looked onto solutions it suggested me, which was pretty much getting new OS. And I was like, "That's nice but that's not happening until I get some money to get better machine." Nothing about Essentials not working for XP anymore. And this message popped up everytime I turned on my PC. So after a while, I was paying no attention to it. The pop up with info about Essentials not working anymore for XP looked EXACTLY the same as the previous one and was showing up as the previous one as well. The message even started with the same sentence so I didn't notice anything different about it and just closed it. So for God knows how long, I was using my PC without protection. Also, that security thing that tells you if your Firewall is off and such was telling me the whole time that the my Antivirus is working just fine.
Of course I did my best to hopefully wipe that shit off but no succes. My last attempt was deleting everything and just reinstalling the system. The result: it got stuck between deleting my old system and installing it back from CD. All is happening, is that I get black screen and that's it.
So yeah, here I am, on mom's netbook, my PC is completely useless now. So any reason I could have think out to not buy new PC is now officially invalid. Because I need something to work on and I can't use this netbook forever.

It will be like that episode of Ed Edd n Eddy where they go to the pool party.

I loved Ed Edd and Eddy, could literally quote any episode word for word. Cartoon Network was the shit.
Also when I was younger I always thought double D was a girl.

Try using a Linux distro. Because if that doesn't work, your looking at hardware failure. The HDD specifically, which sounds like it may be on its way out if you can't complete a Windows install. If you need a budget fix, get a new HDD. No need to scrap the whole system. The system POSTs normally otherwise right?
I know about your money issue but why not upgrade that system to Win7? It should run decent on anything newer then a P4.

Sadly, this computer is loosing it on every possible level. I have 10 years old CPU that gets used to 100% of its capability even if you only have browser opened. Combination of Word + Browser is like death recipe. Lately I've been getting so many errors in so many different programs that I even stopped carring. Plus, I already once changed motherboard few years back when it burned out and I refuse to spend more money on this thing to get more errors as result. It's just really not worth it.

I feel for you man. Computer problems are THE WORST.
I'd gladly help you put together some good components for a PC for your specific needs, as i work as a data-technician at the moment :v:

couldn't you have like, built a computer out of scrap or scavenged parts?
I sorta just ask around when I see one of my friends has a piece of hardware lying around for cheap and I've gotten anything from $20 tablets, free phones to $100 quad-core server / HTPCs and they all ran fine
Ugh work today has been sooo slow! I've basically just sat on Facepunch the entire time :v:
Even then a pre-built that can run source games and comes with Windows 7 or 8 is like what 300$

Thanks a lot for the tips and sure, I could use some help in this. Not much of an IT engineer I am yet.

The hard part is picking out parts, putting them together is easy
Imagine playing with expensive Lego, that's designed so it can't be put together wrong

Sounds like fun :v:
Just be sure not to cause a static overcharge and fry your computer before you even turn it on :v:

Got to get some pics of the set for season 3 of Vikings, they were filming near me.
Building a PC is hillarious. I sent my parts list to all and sundry and every time there was something to change. People all have different opinions.

Well, I generally have an idea of what kind of computer I'd want, just need to know how much money I will actually have so I can decide on what parts to buy.
