So, using android 4.X on an HTC phone as a (wifi only) backup until my main phone gets back from the warranty repair place Jebus, it feels so much clunkier and poorly designed than what I'm used to with WP8.1. Granted I know the ideal for android is to be running stock not HTC sense but its funny just how outdated and tacky a lot of the HTC/android design language is for the phone I'm using. Not to mention the keyboard is awful. This is all ignoring the fact that it doesn't exactly run smooth, but thats to be expected since the device I'm using is a mid-tier year and a half old phone so I'm not counting that against it. But overall the UX feels pretty inefficient and "mid 2000's" compared to what I'm used to. It feels as if the UX was designed before anyone really figured out what good smartphone UX design means despite the phone itself not being that old. I guess that's to be expected since android's roots go way back then and I know stock jellybean is for sure much better in those regards.
