The dumbest part is one of their excuses for firing me is that I answered questions directed toward supervisors
It was literally the one time I mentioned something and one of the old bitches shushed me. Like literally went SHHHHHHHH to my fucking face and then 2 minutes later said the exact same thing I mentioned
What the fuck does it matter if you answer a questing, if you ask a question you just want and answer, it shouldn't matter who it comes from.
So their excuse was they fired you for disrespect? Id bitch slap whoever fired you in the face if that was me, fuck.
I was fired from my 3 month period for "stretching too much" and "looking like I didn't wanna be there"

Idk they just wanted a bullshit excuse really
They needed an excuse to fire you before you joined the union.
What is all this three month business?
Your dominos scooter can do 60 in the first place? I'm impressed.
60km/h and it's not a scooter technically because it can go faster than 50km/h. I don't know what it is because apparently there is only a moped/scooter and a motorcycle and it is neither of those. I thought that one of them (moped or scooter) was the one that could go above 50 and the other was used for ones that go below, but they seem to use them interchangebly so idk what it is.
I had serious difficulty going to sleep last night it's really pissing me off now how much stress this whole incident is causing me. I'm going to be scared out of my mind whenever I go in to work now.

There is a three month probationary period when you get hired at most places in Canada.
By law they don't have to give a valid reason to fire you within your first three months on the job, after three months they have to give you a good accurate reason and give you one weeks notice for every year.
So 5 years working there = 5 weeks advance notice I think. They can fire you on the spot without notice though, but they still have to pay you the amount of money you would make for the weeks in advance you would get even if you're not working there.
How can they do that? Are they really allowed to make you work like that?
I'm a cable technician, a lot of my job is re-wiring shitty houses when it should have been just setting up some cable boxes at their house.
It really sucks. The pay isn't that great either, since it's paid per job and not hourly. I get 3-4 jobs done a day at about 20$ each on pay grade 1.
[editline]17th July 2014[/editline]
And most times it's longer than 11 hour days - sometimes 14 or 15.
They needed an excuse to fire you before you joined the union.
This is actually really correct. Most places will fire plenty employees before they hit the point where you need an actual legitimate excuse to fire them. It's a great way for employers to cycle through people and get their work done cheaply.

Also right before you turn 18. You can guarantee after you're fired, you'll come back and see some 14 year old doing your old job for a third of the pay

Yeah no shit. 5 days from the 3 months probation period and 40 hours from being unionized. It's a job in a grocery store, they train you for like 2 hours total and then bam here you go. They can just hire people whenever
The guy that started the same day as me got fired last week too
what pisses me off the most is I got the call (Yeah they did it over the phone) while I was at a restaurant. I was driving back from my sisters place 4-5 hours from here where I helped her move stuff to her new house. My parents were there and everything but since I was scheduled today I had to drive down.
They told me the last day of the 4 days off I asked to go help my sister move so right now I'm home alone my parents are coming back in 2 days. I could've fucking stayed.
I had to go pick up my doggy from doggy daycare today!

I can't see it saving them much money, conducting interviews, hiring someone, getting them into the payroll system, and training them is expensive.
They just didn't want him getting the protection of the union because they arbitrarily decided they didn't like him.
So a friend of my mom which is also my friend has been in a coma for about a month now with irreversible brain damage... and tomorrow they're gonna pull the plug.
I found out about this today.
So today's pretty shit.

unless the police department's really low on their speeding ticket quota that month i doubt anyone would get written up for like a 5km/h infraction though
hell I go 5-10mph above the speed limit at all times and never get pulled over
You don't know what Australian cops are like when it comes to speeding.
They go out of their way to catch speeders while not doing a great deal about other things going on.
After all, someone got a ticket for doing 1km/h over the limit.

They save in the long run, it's a common practice. You don't have to issue raises or accomodate the person, they can cycle between people looking for jobs and keep them short term. Hell even managers at my own job have admitted that they were told from home office to lob of new hires just to save money.

It's a waste of time. Just checked the law here and if you're speeding 1km/h over the limit you don't lose any points on your license and you get a hefty 15$ fine.
Even doing 110 in a zone of 100 is a 35$ fine and no points so the paperwork wouldn't be worth pulling a guy over for 30$

If you're under 10km/h here it's $75 and no point, more than 10 it's $150 and 2 points, more than 20 it's $300 and 3 points and so on. And the cops will generally do you for doing a little bit over. Not to mention the speed cameras absolutely everywhere.

Everyone knows the tolerance in Québec is roughly 20% above the posted speed limit beside in construction zones.
40 in a 30 is fine, 64 in a 50 is fine, 85 in a 70 is fine, 105 in a 90 is fine, 117 in a 100 is fine.
Then again, anything up to 19 over is only 1 point off, so it's not a big deal anyways.
I don't drive so no fines for me :)
Boring, I can't imagine a life without gas guzzling cars.

There is a pissing contest between SD and Sioux City, IA because SD refuses to give information on SD speeders caught through speed cameras.
I'm serious, as of this month, I'm legally immune to getting fined by any speed camera in the US.
Of course, I had just hope that I don't get pulled over in a state where I have an outstanding one. :v:
I don't drive so no fines for me :)
I just take the bus/public transit
I still need to get my license. And a car.
Sad thing is, I'm already 20. :v:
I could not imagine not having a licence anymore. I can go wherever I want whenever I want, not to mention it only takes me 20 minutes to get to and from work instead of two hours by public transport.
It hasn't really felt like that long, but apparently it's been a whole year today since I joined Facepunch, on July 18, 2013. The first post I made was showcasing a render I made in SFM. It looked okay at the time, but in retrospect looks all-around ugly. I decided to revisit the same scene to showcase how much my skill has improved since then.

This is also my 420th post, so hooray to me?
So for some reason I decided to watch Back to the Future II and I noticed that their "future" is 2015 :v:
So apparently this is where we're gonna be in one year
