Trust me, most of where I live isn't really like this. This place was about a 40 minute drive away and pretty much the only option that isn't just your standard farmland and woods :v:
Just judging by the kind of state parks you've got, your standard farmland and woods is probably exactly the sort of place I'd actually enjoy hiking in
KorJax, raise your aperture a bit - the DOF effect is nice but it has a shallow fade distance from the area in focus to the blurred area, making it look a little hard.
Just my two cents as a fellow photographer, don't shoot me :v:

Yay
Yay happy birthday amigo!
I quite like the DOF to be honest, if he was trying to take a picture of the whole pond thing, then yeah, but for those shots it looks awesome imo.
Korjax, what camera + lens are you using?

Happy day of being one year closer to being dead!!! <3
I passed my driving test, hooray.

You die on your birthday?
You die on your birthday?
No?
ie when you say "I'm 2 feet closer to this guy" it doesn't mean the distance between you in the person is always going to be in 2 foot intervals
Wow hello again.
Happy day of being one year closer to being dead!!! <3
You know what? I apologize, that was mean. I take it back. Enjoy your birthday. It's another year you get to enjoy life!
It's almost my birthday too, a little over a week away.

I've drank ranch dressing soda once. It was... Not all that horrible, really.

Ranch as a dip for pizza too.
Ranch as a dip for pizza too.
I didn't find out about this until I moved down to Oklahoma. It's so... American. I mean, it's a weird condiment used to make an unhealthy food even unhealthier.
That's what America is, let's be honest.

I do it when I'm visiting the states, and even better they brought ranch dressing over here in recent years.
I can't enjoy (cheap) pizza without it now, if it's a good pizza I'm not gonna dunk it in ranch :v:.
I prefer garlic sauce with my pizza. Shit's intense.
Sonofabitch, I wish I lived somewhere even half that pretty, I'd love to do more hiking
It's totally worth it to go other places to do it. I live in Florida, and I've been to Philmont (it's in New Mexico, across the nation) to hike for ~10 days. It was fantastic!

Men's butts.
There is one live company sponsored competition for pen spinning a year, and it's held in China.
This is the first time they are accepting international dudes and are going to pay for their flight and stay. I applied a month ago and never expected anything back.
I got an email this morning saying I got accepted, so I have to talk with my parents and update my passport and get a visa stamp but.
I JUST GOT A FREE FUCKING TRIP TO CHINA TO COMPETE AGAINST MY IDOLS I'M GONNA DIE OF EXCITEMENT
Also there's cash prizes!
Also there's cash prizes!
Hello, I am an experienced manager and I will manage you for the low fee of 90% of the prize money.
I have previously managed that guy who does things. He went on to great success, I am sure you have heard of him.
Wow what a coincidence I do the same but my rate is 89%!

Forgive my newbness, but what is shadow fade distance and what do you mean by making it look hard?

You guys are going to laugh when I say this but I'm using a Lumia 1020 with the ProShot app (so yeah, fixed aperture).
What I really need to do is learn how to fiddle with RAW photos which the lumia 1020 now supports, that way I don't have to rely on messing with filters and hoping it looks correct to get the look I need.
Forgive my newbness, but what is shadow fade distance and what do you mean by making it look hard?
Shallow depth of field means it goes out of focus faster, wider apertures (lower f number) gives you shallower depth of field

If anything, the fact you used a phone for those pictures makes them even more impressive :v:
You've got talent, something no expensive camera comes with

Cell phone camera sensors these days on high end phones are actually pretty good now, it kinda replaces point and shoots for some people. The Lumia 1020 is one of the best cameras on a phone to date.
Shooting RAW pretty much gives you more wiggle room on manipulating the photo so if you wanted to, you can increase the dynamic range of a photo in post.
Making music is so much fun. I wish I wasn't so shy, otherwise I'd be playing on bars and shit like that because this is awesome

the first is always the worst (feeling wise, not necessarily performance wise).
playing around town with some pretty cool friends of mine is what keeps me happy day-to-day, and something I'm really happy I've made more routine.
tonight I'm finally back in the groove after being out of town for a while, we'll be joined by this old dude who's an insane flautist. I'm excited.
