I'm not working until midnight. I rather be really honest than lie and say "oh yeah I don't really want to work until midnight at the job interview". And dude seriously I rated dumb because imo it was dumb advice.
Hes right though. You cant get picky with what hours you want, otherwise they'll just ignore your application. Also its just one application anyway, you should be looking everywhere for a job.

Beggars can't be choosers. You'll work to midnight if you have to [sp]believe me it isn't as bad as you think[/sp] and if you think 11-5 is a reasonable time to work you're also wrong; that's basically middle of one shift to the middle / start of the next. Your chosen hours are shitty and your attitude online blows a good 50% of the time - you better hope you aren't like this in real life.
You'll either accept the fact you'll have to work past bedtime and have to wake up early sometimes or you'll accept the fact you will not have the job.
I work at such a style of food chain, and I have for about a year and a half now. That's just how it works.

Idk friends that I've talked with who live in my town works like 3-4 days a week 8 hours a day so I thought it would be reasonable.
I'm not really begging though. I don't care for the money, I just need the experience. If I don't get the job then oh well I can apply somewhere else. It's not like I live in a major city where jobs are slim.

8 hours a day is reasonable. It's just the 11-5 block isn't. Something like 5 - 1, or 1-9, or however they split their shifts up would be reasonable.
If you want a job that isn't retail or an office type of job, you're going to have to deal with hours you don't necessarily want.

3-4 days a week 8 hours is totally reasonable. From 11 -5 they'd basically be paying you to do nothing because no one eats most of those hours.

Ok then that's better advice then. It's just I was thinking that during lunch rush and before dinner would be a reasonable time to work.

Lunch rush at the McDonalds at my hour is 11:30AM to 1PM. It's near my old highschool and lunch starts at 11:30AM. Thats what I was thinking.

w/e I'll just talk to my friend and see if I can take the job he used to have and ask him about the hours he works if I don't get a call in like 7 days.
Their schedules are usually morning, evening and night shifts
something like 7-15 15-23 23-7 with the ability to split them into smaller 4 hour shifts so youd work 15-19 or 16-20
they dont just slap you in for 8 hours whenever you want to

It said desired working hours so I was honest. w/e I'll work somewhere else I guess with the advice Saza gave to me
Rule number one of job finding. Don't be honest. Don't lie either. Just bend reality
You rate everything dumb i don't think anybody gives a shit anymore
You BOTH do that.
Also, ROFL, that advice was actually really on point. I only got my job because I said I was not only open to work odd hours, but I was also willing to work weekends and all.
My mom once lied and said she had 4 years of college when she actually dropped out of high school to get a job as a chiropractor.
Hey, it worked!
If you don't care about the money and just want the experience why not just take up an unpaid internship somewhere? It gives you the experience and resume material you want and just about everywhere loves slave monkeys.

Sure go ahead and count how many times I've done it in the last ten pages

He's completely right. For any sort of wage job like that if you say you can't work friday or saturday let alone BOTH they will immediately throw your resume out. I'm not kidding either, your application doesn't even show up in the system if done electronically. Any manager of a job like that will confirm this and i know this is how it works for movie theares, fast food chains, or stores found typically in malls.
It's pretty much a take what you can get situation, get the job first and try to move the hours around, if you're a good employee they will accommodate you as you're actually useful and not some lazy schmuck. The advice he gave you is not dumb advice it's realistic and incredibly true and valid advice. It was just advice you didn't want to hear.

You are so aggressive it's pathetic
You are so aggressive it's pathetic
And you are literally always telling him this.
Oh man did I just say that out loud!
-actually no let's not-
I'm trying to defuse the situation and you're stepping on my fingers
Calling someone pathetic isn't going to help at all.
Calling someone pathetic isn't going to help at all.
Yeah I see that
Yeah I see that
truth be told, and this is all im saying and nothing more.
You're usually not good at defusing situations.

It's a hilarious meme way of saying platonic blowjob.
OK so orientation day at college: It was alright. I got there before stuff started, bus took shorter amount of time than expected, went into the room of 30 or so students, apparently I am one of 62 selected out of almost a thousand applicants (woo, I guess my application was pretty go), find out that 30% leave after first year (because it is not for them or other reasons) and 80% land a job/job offer before graduating. Better than any other college (apparently the next one is 60%) and they do exactly what the industry does, uses the same stuff, software, equipment and when the program is done in 2 years, graduates are ready for the TV industry and you'd have connections to future work by then. Sweet.
Also the campus library got new 27-inch iMacs with some pretty nice specs.

Brand new keyboards and mice too. Most of them were still being configured with the special image.
Well then, looks like I'd be spending some quality time with them before most people. It's gonna be just like a year ago at my high school when they got new iMacs for the Computer Art room. I was there every lunch period since then. They were technically the fastest computers in the entire school.
I wonder where the older Mac Pros went...
I also found out that I can sign out USB cables and what not from the Front Computer Desk and the staff there actually know about computers. I also wonder if I can sign out laptops if they have any since I (still) don't have one...
Oh and for meeting actual people, I just met up with some students doing the same program at the free lunch. Met like 6 of them and we generally have the same courses/course times.
