I think everyone would like W10 cause it has a start menu.
The main reason.
For me at this point, I couldn't really care less about the Start Menu. Even with Classic Shell, the only things I ever use are the application shortcuts, search bar, shut down, and This PC (all of which are on the new start screen). Everything else they could remove and I wouldn't miss it.
I'm probably the minority when I say I've always HATED the All Programs menu (not that the new one is any better tbh). Its clumsy and gets cluttered too easy.
Search master race.

For some reason I always navigate to the program folder and run it directly :v:

The first time I used Window 7 from XP I was so happy. No longer would I have to navigate that damn menu. I'm far too lazy to use the mouse.

I meant like, opening explorer and manually typing the file path
When you use the same Vista install for 5 years without formatting, it's actually faster than using search

Nevermind that changes things completely.
So I opened up two tabs and got cleverbot talking to itself and this is what happened.
I am by no means tech illiterate but Windows 8 is my least favorite OS. I can navigate it fine but I don't like -how- I have to navigate it, it feels very unnatural and uncomfortable for me. If I had a windows 7 OS disk I would install that instead.
An hour into my Windows 10 Technical Preview install and I realized that I had gotten so used to metro being smack-dab in the middle of the screen if you pressed the windows key that having it pop up in a tiny corner of the screen just seemed awkward compared to the fullscreen menu that pops up for a second (especially considering that you currently can't group apps together in the start menu)
Although I like windowing Apps I think I'll stick with Win8 until 10 hits release and try it again because it doesn't get much more organized than this

I am sticking with Win8,1 till the end of (it's) days. I pretty much just yesterday got it and I am not changing to anything new just because it was released. I have classic shell installed for comfortbility so I am all set up and I really don't feel any need to change again.
I really have no problem with 8 unlike a lot of people.
Conventions are many amazing. That is all.
Come to FangCon or something we can chilloutt yaknow?
Problem with fullscreen IMO isn't that it's not organized, it's that it puts everything on hold while you look for/open an app. Start menu doesn't.
the built in PDF reader is nice for presentations and stuff but when you use it for anything else (consulting resource docs while studying/coding shit) it's so counter intuitive and useless you don't even want to use it
Hit win key, type "cont" and hit enter.
Windows 8 + Oblytile = yes

Yep, also works in Vista too.

If I was a Windows 8 fanboy I'd use Windows 8.
I didn't even have a GUI when I was growing up and I HAD to type everything out, so I'm cool with it either way :v:
except I don't actually like to do that sort of thing because I'd rather it just be two clicks away instead
fishy your cat avatars make me happy

Oh, then you just right click on the corner of the taskbar and then click on control panel, I believe. Windows key and a few keystrokes is how I always do it though.
It kind of confuses me how people can't operate windows 8. For the most part its windows 7 with a different UI. There's a learning curve and it's slight. But i got used to it after dicking around on it for about an hour. Pretty much it just seems they went "okay lets take windows 7 but add more steps to do anything or launch any program".

I have 7 on my desktop and 8 on my laptop. I don't really care either way for what version I have.
I've used Windows 8 for a year or two and even though Windows 7's UI might be better I couldn't dream of going back, too used to it
I'd use windows 8 if they would just remove the fact that everything takes like 5 more clicks to do.
By trying to make it minimalistic and simple, they made it convoluted.
