[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CjZvE1JUkAEEKyK.jpg[/t]
Holy shit
If anyone has a big stake in defending reaction videos on youtube, it's the Fine Bros. I'm not surprised at all.
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CjZvE1JUkAEEKyK.jpg[/t] This was unexpected Overkill software (Payday Devs) also donated 2k
This is hilariously ironic and contradictory to these guys.
This is hilariously ironic and contradictory to these guys.
I think it's more of a strategic PR move on their part than them actually caring, but whatever. More money to H3H3 is all I care about right now.
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CjZvE1JUkAEEKyK.jpg[/t] This was unexpected Overkill software (Payday Devs) also donated 2k
Honestly if there ever would be a case that a YT'er would sue another YT'er i would expect them to be the ones pulling it off. Still, fine to see them donating but i still can't get my head around the whole copyrighting "React To" videos
Are people still that uninformed about the fine bros thing? Literally all that scenario boiled down to was them saying "if you want to use our logos/product name on your content we can do a partnership very easily" at no point were they literally trying to copyright the reaction format in general.
^^Ignore that comment. Let's not derail please.
My god what is happening to YouTube.
My god what is happening to YouTube.
It started to go from a bunch of people making content to please the audience to being serious business to figure out how to generate as much money as possible and how to get more subscribers (serious business) Youtube is never going to be like it was back in 2010 and before

Youtube is the next generation of tv and radios Its the modern evolution of technology taking off into new form Because of this laws dont really work with it and no one really knows where to take it
he should backpedal when he still can
I think it's more of a strategic PR move on their part than them actually caring, but whatever. More money to H3H3 is all I care about right now.
Yeah, I question whether or not they can feel actually sorry for what they did though. I think they can stand back and realize they fucked up, and I think they should be allowed to move on from their past. This is regardless of the payment either, but the payment is as nice as it is strategic.
The war between h3h3productions against Bold Guy at this point is like the entire U.S army versus two civilians. Bold Guy is obviously gonna lose this court case.
I took a look at Hoss's channel and jesus, his videos are cringy as hell.

am I too cynical for just seeing most of these youtuber donations as self-serving? dropping money on something publicly is like the lowest effort way to get brownie points to be fair there are some big amounts, $2000 definitely has more weight than just 50 bucks or something, but then some of these guys are pretty loaded anyway so

Then add in the fact as we've already read that everyone on the internet will be affected in some way.

That is enough money for maybe 3 or so cases tops, but hopefully it won't even get to the third due to precedent. This is interesting as literally anyone registered on youtube, apparently, who has a legitimate fair use claim in court, can use this fund.
This is actually probably the best possible outcome from all this.
this is incredible the money being used solely to defend fair use even if Bold guy cancels the case this ends up being a fully positive thing, hell even if he wins the case this will still be positive I hope this grows and ends up improving youtube for the better
this is incredible the money being used solely to defend fair use even if Bold guy cancels the case this ends up being a fully positive thing, hell even if he wins the case this will still be positive I hope this grows
There's no way he will win. He would need to go all in and right now PR easily spins this in H3H3's favor. At this point I doubt he will continue, but he might do a hail mary at the judge to see if anything sticks off the bat.
i think h3h3 broke the gofundme servers
It's kind of crazy to think like a month or so ago the infighting on youtube was reaching high profile levels and now everyone's just cut the shit and banded together. About time the community showed its nice side.
I was worried about what they were going to do with the money, because they didn't intend to ask for it, and they got so much more than they need now. That FUPA fund is a genius idea.
that list has basically everyone
If only there was a good competitor site.
I have always wanted to see something like this, it was thought that Amazon would come with something but they made a platform which is not really accessible for the average user nor does it allow simple uploads but rather complete videos.
