Griffon at BG Williamsburg. Been on it like 50 times.

This is a real mans drop coaster. Tallest and fastest dive coaster in the world.
This roller-coaster was completely over-hyped. You can ride Apollo's Chariot or Alpengeist twice in the time it takes to wait in line for Griffon.
I think not.
Been on this so many times, never felt anything like it.
[editline]10:32PM[/editline]
There's nothing like the new wood coasters
[editline]10:35PM[/editline]
Also, I hate the drops that make a turn, ruins it.
[editline]10:35PM[/editline]
Anyone been on The Hulk? that was awesome.
I love inverted coasters.

unthemed ones are great too, but it's always nice when they have some personality.
best coaster ever
went on it 5 times with my step bro
I'm off to thorpe park in an hour.
Superman: Ultimate Flight at Six Flags Over Georgia has always been my favorite, but Afterburner in Carowinds was just as good. I need to go to King's Island, that's the next place on my list.
As aforementioned, this one is slightly taller and faster. It was built specifically to beat the Top Thrill Dragster. Just a fucking 1-upper copy of TTD.
I have heard it is worse in every way. It is bumpier and most importantly, it has a full over-the-shoulder style harness which retracts from the fun a heap. TTD has a lap-bar style restraint. Fucking awesome bro.
Sucks. We have hardly any good, large coasters here in Aus. There are only really Superman Escape and Lethal Weapon.
No no no, you're all new to this coaster thing aren't you?

I rode this beast... (And The Beast in King's Island.)
but anyways...
Millenium Force (When it opened in May 2000, Millennium Force broke twelve world records)
Tallest complete circuit roller coaster (310 feet (94 m))
Fastest complete circuit roller coaster (92 miles per hour (148 km/h))
Steepest non-inversion banked turn on a roller coaster (122°) (Half Corkscrew)
Longest drop on a complete circuit roller coaster (300 feet (91 m))
Those are some of them...
I rode this and cussed the whole damn time, about pissed myself...

This is also a great ride...
Nevermind the guy, he's an idiot...

Pepsi Max Big One was the biggest coaster on all margins in 1994. Before anything like this existed.

These are also some of my favourites:

That coaster has the steepest drop in the world. Mumbo Jumbo at Flamingoland, UK.

This one in 1994 was the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the world.
All I am trying to say that the tracks looked identical. There could be slight differences, but they look pretty much the same. The Danish one however has existed for longer.
Look at Saw's track and look at that Danish coaster's track and you'll see a huge difference.
Also that one in Denmark looks as if it has no theme about it whatsoever.

Ok... But now... It's not...
Anyways, have you kiddies ridden this yet?

It's. Fucking. Amazing.
(And it adds to the scare factor that when they were building it, the half with the first climb fell over twice.)

The climb and first drop are the best parts, I rode it before and after they took out the loop.
This is an amazing ride, seriously, you feel like you're in a whole new city made of wood, lol.

Kingda Ka was fucking shit. There was about 5 feet of chair in front of me, couldn't see shit. The ride started, WHOOSH BANG OMFG over. Had no idea what was going on. Could have just thrown me down a hill blindfolded and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I didn't even feel any G-force.
Nemesis at Alton Towers is my all-time favourite ride.
While i will agree to millennium force being an amazing ride, its worth mentioning bizarro. Ive been to pretty much every park on the east coast and midwest, and a fair amount out west. My Favorites that i have been on:
1. Maverick. Cant believe nobody's mentioned this one. Its fantastic. It may not be the fastest, or the longest, or highest, but my god. Its one hell of a ride.

2. Bizzaro/Millienium Force. Bizarro was the First super coaster ive ever been on and the #1 steel coaster in the world. Both coasters are pretty identical.

3. Kingda Ka/Top Thrill. Tallest and fastest in the world. There both one in the same. I think kingda kas a bit more fun but as far as looks and wait times go Top thrill handles it better. Ive been on both and apart from the hill on kingda ka there the same.

4.Griffon. Tallest and fastest drop coaster in the world. Tons of fun, an ive never waited more then a half hour for it...

5. Magnum XL-200: You cant forget the one that started it all. This was the ride that sparked the war for the fastest and tallest coaster in the world. 20 years later its still a fantastic ride.

Also, if you want to call yourself a coaster enthusiast, you need to go to cedar point. Its the ultimate park in the world. Sure, its kinda in the middle of nowhere Ohio. But its worth it. Almost every ride there is fantastic.

I live in Scotland. Our most thrilling roller coaster is this:

It's the bumpiest, shortest, oldest and shittiest roller coaster in the world. England is better, but still no top thrills.
My favourite ride in terms of fun, is Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure (we went on holiday to New York). It's not that tall, but damn is it fast. The comfy waist-only restraints make the ride really great fun.

It's the orangey one in the back.

Last time I was on a wooden roller coaster (the Coney Island one) my back cracked and I had to go to hospital. Never been on one since. Never will.
Fuck this thread makes me sad that I live on the canadian west coast. There isn't any rollercoasters in my PROVINCE last I checked.
The only good coaster I got near me is Mind Eraser :(

I haven't ridden it since I don't live in America, 2. It's standing but not operating because it's a deathtrap.

Nemesis is totally iconic. It was one of the first PROPER inverted coasters.. it proves as a lesson to all in coaster design..
John Wardley really did a great job on this one. I still think it's the best inverted coaster in the world.
Amen to Nemesis.
However, fuck wooden coasters, fuck them good. I refuse to go on them because the design seems so fucking backwards. Stick some damp in there and a few termites and enjoy your death-trap.

I refuse to go on coasters like this too. The supports look like matchsticks.

RIP chang, 1997-2009
This season was the first time I've ridden it, and now it's going away forever :sigh:
Fuck year Kentucky Kingdom!
Also the Georgia Cyclone and it's sister the Thunder Run are about as intense as I can get. Anything above I can't ride due to not wanted to catch a case of the dead.
Wooden coasters are the shit.

Affront to nature. Steel all the way.
I haven't ridden it since I don't live in America, 2. It's standing but not operating because it's a deathtrap.
Oh, it's operating again... And I've ridden it about 15-16 times out of the past 4 times I've been to King's Island... The only thing that really scares you is the climb, it's so loud, and supports the statement about the broken timbers in the coaster. :downs:
Any bets there will be an accident on the SAW one, and people will think Jigsaw is behind it or some retarded shit?

M&D's is shit all together, they can't even get a fucking proper arcade right.
Also, only 2% of the worker's their are actually Scottish, rest are all polish.
Also, I remember there being a corkscrew being on the tornado, then it being removed due to the fact that it actually killed somone at point point.
Amen to Nemesis.

I've been on a few fun wooden coasters. The one at the boardwalk in San Jose was a pretty good one, and I can't recall there being a major accident on that one.

As long as the park maintenance staff aren't completely incompetent, you have nothing to worry about.
Being in California, the only good roller coaster park I can think of off the top of my head is Great America. I pussied out from the Top Gun roller coaster last time I was there (apparently it isn't Top Gun anymore, it's Flight Deck.)

The first person view doesn't really show it, but there's a nine story drop and some neat loops and corkscrews and shit.

A real man's coaster :smug:
I've gone on this. It's so fast that you don't even notice the incline.
I personally think the best coaster in the US is the Bizzaro in Six Flags New England. Originally the Superman, but a couple people died on it so they changed the name to avoid the bad press.
I'm off to thorpe park in an hour.
Fright Night brother!
Did I see you there? I was there :D
Me and Bengley met up for a couple hours, sadly he didn't stay for Fright Nights. :(
