The best greasy spoon burrito you will have. It's deep fried.
Also, are you going to paint your VW in Garrus colors and only play Beatles music on the trip?

It's a really cool place with that "must be weird" Portland feel and some damn good food.
And if you ever for some reason go to Corpus Christi Texas and happen to be craving vietnamese food. I highly suggest Hu Dat noodle house, the best Vietnamese in south Texas.

Ming Ling's in Miller Indiana
Shitty name? Aye. Shitty town? Aye.
But the food is godlike. Can't go wrong on their soup of the day.
I used to live in New York, and my dad always took me to this place when i was an toddler in Long Island called Commack Breakfast, great sandwiches there. When we had to scrunch up on money, my dad picked up a sandwich for me and it was my breakfast, lunch and dinner for the day. :3: Really filling a "brunchy" place. It's more of a grab and go place though.
It's not famous, but its some damn good breakfast sandwiches.
There's a local chain that's Tallahassee only.
It's called Mo Mo's pizza. No, this isn't your average pizza joint.
They have slices bigger than your head. I had a calzone there and it was fucking HUGE. and it's all fucking tasty. http://www.momospizza.com/

Where? Any city that we feel is worth visiting in the state. If a city has a good food place or a must-see tourist spot, then we'll most likely be heading there.
[editline]10th February 2011[/editline]
Also thanks for all your suggestions, guys, I've never heard of half of these places but they all seem pretty rad.
http://www.unclesamssubs.com/
Best damn subs ever. Pittsburgh area only, only four locations. The one in Squirrel Hill is the one a lot of teenagers frequent. Pretty cheap too, you can get a foot-long steak sub for around $7.

Okay, well then if you go along the west coast you'll definitely have to go through Portland, it's an awesome place. You could spend an eternity in the city and it would be more interesting than any other city in the country besides maybe New York.
Although it's pretty small, if you're heading down (or up) the Bitterroot valley in Montana, go to Naps in Hamilton. It's got really good burgers.

Liberty Market, which is also owned by Joe. If he happens to be at any of the restaurants when you go, he's a really nice guy to talk to and i'm sure he'd love to hear about your trip. And if you go to any of the three restaurants on your birthday you get a $10 meal credit. So you can eat at all three for free on your birthday (I'll be doing this on the 16th)

When in Albuquerque or Texas, also check out Rudy's barbecue, it's GODLIKE.

Sheetz gas station. That's right, a gas station. Located in Marland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and North Carolina. Sheetz has a to-go food service in each gas station. The pizza, the fries, the burgers, the hot dogs, the nachos, the chicken tenders, etc... I refuse to leave from a trip to Pennsylvania without going to Sheetz.
They also won a silver plate award in 2001 because their food was so kickass.
