Go here! http://www.yelp.com/biz/thai-garden-tacoma We used to go their all the time when I was a kid. Now I'm obsessed with peanut sauce.
In Birch Run, Michigan near Highway I-75 there is a restaurant called Tonys that have huge BLTS and banana splits

[img_thumb]http://blog.mlive.com/mid-michigan-business_impact/2009/02/medium_mks.Tonys3.jpg[/img_thumb]
The BLTs contain a pound of bacon, and the Banana split has a half gallon of icecream
I've never eaten the BLT, but next time we go there, me and my family are gonna share the Banana Split
Italian Delite here is pretty good, but unless my stomach is in a good mood I usually walk away with a stomachache

If that makes you hnnnnnnnng, take a look at youtube's EpicMealTime channel.
http://www.therootbeerstand.com/
This place right here has the best chilli dogs and root beer I've ever had in my entire life.

Classic looking too.
Burgerville in the Northwest has some really awesome burgers and such things. Also take a look at Round Table Pizza, try their Maui Zaui, it's great pizza. And if you're going to visit Portland, visiting the microbreweries and such is a must. If you get the chance, take a walk downtown and see what you find. Don't know much about anything specific though.
SO HUNGRY NOW! but I'm going to go to the kitchen and end up eating something boring like a penutbutter sandwich
You should really come down to Miami. I'll make you some typical food from Venezuela
More specifically: an Arepa. You can fill it with anything. not just what's in the picture.
You like shrimp? You got it, Chicken? That too, or whatever else your  desires

That one doesn't look very appetizing because I didn't make it. But I'll make an extra-perfect batch just for you and your trip buddies
Then we can get some things to fill up a cooler with and go to THE very famous Miami Beach. You have to go there for your trip...even...if you don't want to try my cooking:(

I've been to the two locations above several times and I think you'll love it.
Anyways I have a brother who lives in Brickell (that's right in front of the beach) in one of the new high-rises. And it's right in front of the beach + it has a really nice view and there's LOTS of places to eat nearby you should visit on your roadtrip.
Map of The Club at Brickell Bay

The pool is on the 15th floor (and it has a gym right next to it if you want to get in a workout right before walking to the beach). You can see it from my brother's balcony. His balcony is located at a really good spot too. On one side you see all the city (he's on the 30th floor) and the airplanes flying off from the airport. Then you take a few steps around the corner and you see the pools (there's 2 pools) and the beach perfectly. You can also see people playing tennis or swimming on the roofs of neighboring high-rises.
The pool and view from it at.

None of those pictures are OC since I'm in school right now but I'll make you an arepa and take a picture of it before I eat it for you:). I'll see if I can go over to my bros on the weekend and take pictures of the views for you or maybe make some videos. Have fun on your trip Pascall and co.:D

If you find yourself in New York, you need to stop by "Famous Lunch" in Troy.

Famous Lunch began in 1932 serving three inch frankfurters with the works and has been owned and operated by three generations of the Vasil family. Troy was a big industry city, lots of mills and this little luncheon served thousands of manual labor workers during the time. It used to be called "Quick Lunch", but after WW2, a US marine from Troy who was stationed in Moscow had these little frankfurters flown out to him. Ever since, it's been known as "Famous Lunch". The hot dogs have always been made by "The Troy Pork Store" which started in 1918, just a couple blocks away.

It's a tradition if you're ever in upstate New York. My father, my grandfather and great grandfather grew up eating at Famous Lunch
Also, you should go to Julie Ann's in Crystal Lake, IL. Sure I'm partial because my family owns it, but I fucking love their ice cream.
Julie Ann's is amazing. I live just right outside Crystal
Chesapeake pizza, they make the best god-damn pizza, the people who own it are Italian so it's that much more authentic.
Theres this place in Roslyn, New York. It's a family owned pizza place called Pizza Pub. It's fucking great, and the owners are really nice.
Also if you like Mexican food you can go here: http://www.burritojonz.com/
There's some really funky vibes when you go in there, it's crazy. But it's awesome and cheap.
If you're heading through Connecticut, go by Mystic there are some really great local restaurants like Mystic Pizza.
They even made a movie out of it in the 90's.
Site: http://www.mysticpizza.com/restaurants.aspx
I don't know of any famous eateries near where I live. ;(
Go to Houston, Lankford's Groceries.
Only open until 3 PM, but it's open 7 days a week. Go there on a weekday, around 11 AM.
Order the firehouse burger. Habaneros, man.

That place is awesome.
Also Salsa Fuego in Fort Worth, just because of the Fuego Burger
and Chris Madrid's, but you've probably already eaten there.
Suburpia in Milwaukee.
They have, in my opinion, the best sub sandwiches in the world.
Yocco's Hot Dogs

The worst-looking yet best tasting hot dogs I've ever had.
Stopped by a place called Bush's chicken, Ordered #7 and a gallon of sweet tea. $21 well spent.
http://www.bushschicken.com/
Great tender pieces. Even batter, lots of meat. The place felt old fashioned
Moomers Ice Cream in Traverse City Michigan.

They were voted the best ice cream shop in America on Good Morning America (source), and they are on the USA today's list of 50 best ice cream parlors.
The shop overlooks a cattle farm where they raise and milk their cows. And the ice cream is amazing.

Go to Superdawg in Chicago. Best hot dogs in the country:

Don't forget to get a milkshake too!
If you ever come out towards the Central Valley of California, make sure to go to In-N-Out. Order the strawberry shake because it is the best thing ever created by humanity.
Sheetz gas station. That's right, a gas station. Located in Marland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and North Carolina. Sheetz has a to-go food service in each gas station. The pizza, the fries, the burgers, the hot dogs, the nachos, the chicken tenders, etc... I refuse to leave from a trip to Pennsylvania without going to Sheetz.
They also won a silver plate award in 2001 because their food was so kickass.

[img_thumb]http://www.yorkblog.com/flipside/img/sheetz.jpg[/img_thumb]
I know this was posted a bit back but still.
This is something i find hilarious. My last name is Sheetz, sadly no relation to the owners. I live in Philadelphia PA, Sheetz got its start in middle PA. I travel up around state college PA, smack dab in the middle of the state and Sheetz is big there.
Whenever i go up there and people ask my name and i tell them "Sheetz" they get all googly eyed and think im rich and famous.
On topic, Pascall watch a favorite short series of mine by Alton Brown:

Alton brown (if you don't know who he is then you can go to hell, hes amazing), went on a Journey starting from the very edge of Georgia bordering the Atlantic ocean and travelled all the way to LA only taking backroads and eating from out of they joints tucked away and hidden from the interstates and highways. Doing kind of what you are planning on doing. It's a really fantastic show/special.
watch him eat a brain sandwich

For Maryland, Pizza John's.
I have yet to speak to someone from the Baltimore area who hasn't heard of this place yet.

I live right down the street from here and I get a pizza every week.
There is a series of burger joints around Seattle called Dick's.
Personally, I think "Dick's Weiner Bar" would bring in more revenue.
There is a place in Platteville Colorado called The Double Tree. Really great food. Has been around since the 60's I used to work their when i was 14 as a bus boy. It's basically the only good resturant in the town. The town itself is old and it literally looks like a zombie attack or some virus would take this town first. I'd recommend it.

That is the main street through town.
Also about 15 miles north of their in a town called Brighton Colorado their is a pizzeria their called Serafini's pizzeria. I worked for them for them around 3-4 years. GREAT i mean GREEAAAT pizza. It's family owned and the orignial owner still works their on friday's but his son now owns and runs it for the most part. They can get a bit pricy since again it's family owned and they get some of the best ingridents to make the pizzas, but it's well worth it. The current owner's name is Frank Serafini. Great guy and like i said GREAT pizza.

My favorite type that i always made when i was their just for me was, a large with meatball sauce. Beef, Sausage, Pepporini, Mushrooms, and Onions. You will literally get an orgasam from the taste. If you think about it OP pm me for directions to the place.
Here are my local recommendations:

The last two are small, Southern California chains, not usually mentioned. King Taco for excellent tacos, authentic for fast food. I usually get Al Pastor(pork) with everything(onions, etc) and the hot sauce which IS hot(if you're used to Del Taco haha). The other one is The Hat, a pastrami place. Get the pastrami which is a fairly huge sandwich. If you are REALLY hungry split an order of wet fries with whoever you're with, they're awesome(but you get a huge portion).
King Taco, they understand English, in case you don't know enough Spanish to order.
Mugs Up in Columbia, MO and Fitz's in St. Louis, MO.
Both have amazing root beer and burgers.
Holy shit.
I was just about to suggest Mugs Up. Glad to see someone else knows of it's awesomeness.
You'd have to go a long way Pascall, for my favorite eatery, (I know where ya' hail from, I go on the Primal Carnage Forums), Rick's All Season's in York Village, Maine. You'll have to ask around for the exact location, haven't been there in about a month or two. It's closed during the first few days of the week, so you should plan ahead. Mind you it's family owned, and dissapointing that they don't have any other locations.
