Satoru Iwata unboxes the Wii U himself (with white gloves!)

That game pad is pretty massive
Nintendo is to consoles what Valve is to PC's.
Also I still think Steam on the Wii U would be an amazing idea.
What? Rehashing same games over and over, making use of gimmicky controllers, crappy online-solutions and casual games galore?
I really want one but I'm saving up for a new PC
First world problems :(

Also how does the Gamepad function? Does it have its own OS which enables you to browse the web etc on it?
As far as I know, the console just streams a video output to the gamepad.
Virtual Boy.
but they tried to innovate on that portable idea, but the execution was off by a gazillion miles
Making bad mistakes and doing a bad job is not the same thing as fucking over their customers.
Messing up is not necessarily evil
For a company that's still kind of stuck in the nineties, they're handling how they show off their console and its specs very well.
i wish everyone was as polite as Mr. Satoru Iwata
I feel like they're realised that everybody is going to look for this stuff since it's readily available on the internet, so hey, they might as well do it themselves.

Nintendo are the wrong ones to be singling out for this sort of crap.
This guy has got a lot of manners and politeness I really wouldn't expect from a man with a rank like that in a company.
I wouldn't call Uncharted and Gears endlessly rehashed series. They followed the trilogy format as many books and films do. However, I'd call fair game on COD and Halo
EDIT: Good point though on the gimmicky controllers and casual games.

He just seems like a guy I would want to shake hands with. Or bow to.
but not both at the same time.
take notes obama
Well, I don't know much about Japanese culture but what I do know/have heard is that the employer and worker have a very close and honorary bond, where the worker really wants to do a good job to make his or her employer proud. I'm guessing it's kind of the same thing here where the guy wants to make a good display of the Wii U and is being very polite about it to boot, just to make the customers which are kind of his employers (he gets the money from us after all) happy.
He's a nice guy.

He's a good example of Japanese corporate culture (At least at the top - mid and low levels are slaves). They have very different ways of doing things.

It depends on the company, of course. Work and effort are valued highly.
I also love this video:

Whereas the first one is relaxing and formal, this one is awkward as fuck.

This super friendly guy for example!

I know all consoles do this, but I was refering to him comparing nintendo to Valve, which is a weird comparison.
He should commit sudoku over that shameful WiiU display

He placed the Wii U on the stand the wrong way. He should be punished.
