They managed to turn a possibly very interesting setting into another brown&grey cover based shooter. Also bullshot central, rendered at 10 times 1080p like they always do. [editline]24th May 2014[/editline] "its just the alpha/recording/whatever" Jesus Christ did you guys start playing games a month ago? No it won't look anywhere this good, framerates will still be shit. It's like you haven't seen this happen at least 200 times especially with a new generation.
I love it when people say WE CANT TRUST THE GAMING DEVELOPERS THEY ARE LYING TO US US OR THEM US OR THEM!!!! Then say that theres a bunch of evidence then they can't produce it so they point out only two games out of the hundreds of thousands of games ever released as concrete proof. It's really hilarious.

But I will agree that, for me anyway, the only appeal to the game will be the interesting cutscene looking gameplay, which looks to seamlessly meld cutscene and gameplay, along with Arthurian Legend, Victorian London, and Steampunk Galore.

You're also pretty naive to think that any console game would ship with that kind of framerate problem
I wish I could give more boxes 10 times 1080... You're also pretty naive to think that any console game would ship with that kind of framerate problem
I'm not 100% sure but I heard that a few games on 360 had framerate issues (such as GTA V).
Not that bad... Anyway if you're gonna judge it based on performance issues maybe you should wait. Could it have issues? Maybe. But trying to judge it by that this far out from release is so fucking stupid
This gameplay was a recording of a livestream from Playstation today. The quality has been greatly diminished from what was regarded as a low quality, laggy stream to begin with. The framerate "issues" you're seeing are hiccups from the guy recording the stream ontop of the stream itself. I watched it myself this afternoon. See more here: http://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/26aman/the_order_1886_sneak_peak_today_at_100pm_pst/ Go watch some of the previous gameplay footage. Shit is gorgeous and seems to run solid. Please stop acting so fucking jaded and just wait and see what they deliver. Not every developer is evil and lying to you, and not everything is a bullshot. Someone got InFamous Second Son early and posted a nice shot of it on Reddit and some cried bullshot then. It wasn't.
So basically they have the coolest setting but they decided to ruin it by making everyone in this video acting like a cliche american soldier.
Nice graphics (even if everything is just grey), boring looking gameplay
to be fair England is pretty fuckin grey most of the time, it would be kinda weird if it were all colorful on an overcast morning in 1800's Whitechapel
The gun he's using has the most pathetic firing sound.
It's a thermite shooter, hence the 'explosions' afterwards.

Stream-recordings always look like this, I could tell from the start that this is the case. I want to see some actual, proper 1080p-gameplay, this is too painful to watch with all the hiccups and shite framerates from the stream.
THERMITE GUN!
to be fair England is pretty fuckin grey most of the time, it would be kinda weird if it were all colorful on an overcast morning in 1800's Whitechapel
London is amazing when it's sunny.
London is amazing when it's sunny.
Yeah it's nice every millennium or so.
It doesn't look that bad in this video
People think this is "awesome"? Sure the graphics is all nice and shi-, but the gameplay is so boring. Especially that part when he was dragging wounded guy, all he did was move an inch to shoot few bullets and move another inch for another guy.
The graphics are nice and the setting is interesting but other than that it doesn't look too good, really.

Its better to have an interesting environment and story with tried and true gameplay then buggy and broken gameplay with not a whole lot of interesting going on.

If it looks shit in that video, it's going to stay shit when it comes out. And you are kidding yourself if you think that doesn't look like the most generic gameplay of the generation. [editline]sd[/editline]
Reminds me of Killzone 2's trailer and how everyone though it was lies and bullshit. Then Killzone 2 came out and looked 10 times better than the trailer.
Are you kidding me? It literally was lies and bullshit. Everyone was upset that the game didn't resemble the trailer whatsoever. the fake cgi "gameplay" was bait into thinking it would be a truly next gen game, and on top of that everyone was upset that the graphics didn't look nearly as good. I have no idea where you're getting that people were actually impressed with KZ2's graphics compared to the CGI trailer.
Quite average looking. The gun-play doesn't look satisfying at all; it just looks like the usual easy-mode high-fire-rate/low-recoil that we've had in nearly every shooter for the past 10 years. Sounds for the weapons were trash, considering how big and meaty looking the gun models were. Colour palette was drab and boring. And what's with the genius protagonists running out into the open to save their friend? Didn't they see he just got shot at that exact spot? It's almost as if they'll get shot if they go there too - at least, if the enemies didn't have 80s action movie aiming where they can't hit the heroes at all.
Those light glares were fucking obnoxious
The designs of some of those weapons look awkward, I guess they were trying to go for retrofuturistic, but most of them just look like they were based off guns from 10+ years later so it just looks anachronistic. The thermite rifle and whatever that focused energy weapon is look kind of cool though, a bit more unique, unlike that Borchardt pistol.

It seems to be an unpopular opinion here, but I think the games looks gorgeous and while the gameplay might not be nothing new, it seemed to be fun and that's what matters for me. If they manage to put a decent storyline it could be a great game.
Very grey, brown and gloomy.

That being said, I really loved Gears of War, so I'll enjoy the gameplay if its anything like it (on a basic level). The story certainly has a lot of potential, and I'd really like them to release some more info on it.
whoever thinks this game will be a good game and not a good movie is lying to themselves.
Is this 2006 again?
i think the setting and design is such that they could come up with some interesting weapons to at least make the gameplay mildly less dull. like if they had a gravity gun-tier idea and incorporated it well then i could see it working
They clearly said "Provide us some covering fire" and then they said "Covering fire" while providing covering fire.
Or... they could actually win the firefight by killing all of the enemies that are aiming right at them instead of cutting their firepower in half by having 2 people drag that guy along, leaving 2 people shooting. It's stupid that you'd reduce the amount of weapons firing at the enemy in the middle of a firefight, particularly as they're surrounded on all sides. [editline]...[/editline] Having rewatched it, the player's AI team mates aren't even providing covering fire as they're retreating into that building with the wounded guy. The player's having to shoot them by himself.
It looks a little desaturatedy
