I hope they will make a video about the monsters they showed in the E3 trailer.
Dear God. One of the surprises about KZ2 by most commentators is that it was actually better looking than the trailer.
That didn't happen at all. No, really. Everyone and their dog pointed out how it looked worse than the trailer. They made a big deal about it being real time footage and it was quickly revealed to be pre-rendered, by a third-party company as I recall.
been following this game because it looks like the first proper AAA in-game execution of true physically-based rendering but it's such a shame they picked literally the most boring gameplay execution possible
i'm not quite sure what you're waiting for.... far cry 3 / black ops 2 / crysis 3 /ryse / watch dogs / killzone shadow fall / ground zeroes utilized a PBR pipeline but I don't see what's so PBR about it! well yes. it's mostly a workflow improvement
ok i see it's no use arguing with you, you literally contradicted yourself by saying "lol dont treat opinion as fact" and literally treat opinion as fact 5ms earlier(and what's funny is from a graphical technologies standpoint you're not even remotely right, the technology used in the cgi demo is never even fucking seen in the game whatsoever, and not even seen in NEXT GEN GAMES OR EVEN PC GAMES, why? BECAUSE IT'S CG)
you'd be able to get on par / better in some areas - the only thing that was absolutely unachievable in that trailer was the fume physics and that looked like shit anyways - the lighting and material work was both decidedly worse in the CGI trailer

I will replay it right now to make sure) e: okay yeah it still looks good tbh the animations were faar better in the release and the fire effects, while technologically inferior, behaves much better in release than the uncanny-valley matchstick fumes in the trailer there's a certain difference in the amount of rendered geometry... but not enough to raise alarm in motion and probably not enough to be practically realizable in quite a long time - not because of technical limitations: the fault lies rather in production and 'who in the world would spend the production budget on uniquely modeled geometry pebbles and craters throughout an entire full length game' aaand to make it up, killzone 2 looks much more pleasing in terms of general artistic direction than in the 2005 e3 trailer which was very diffuse and very plastic-like and fitting... for a 2005 cgi trailer
That gunplay looks so boring and unsatisfying.
Where are the monsters they teased in the E3 2013 trailer? Also the game looked wayyy more interesting in the trailer.
Just because they show human enemies in a minute-thirty long clip doesn't mean that the monsters aren't in the game anymore.
Just because they show human enemies in a minute-thirty long clip doesn't mean that the monsters aren't in the game anymore.
While I do agree with you, it's just dumb of them not to show the monsters, because how many posts have you seen mentioned the monsters before mine? None. Why? Because all they have been showing are shootouts with humans leading to people to forget monsters do exist in the game. I bet you that if they showed more about the monsters, people wouldn't have complained how the gameplay was boring. Though I admit that didn't phrase it right. And your point still stand :v:
Well they did mention in a previous trailer that the early part of the game has them fighting a workers' uprising. I just hope that the monster fights aren't just waiting in cover and pumping them full of bullets before they get to you. I'm hoping it's more active and is based on outmaneuvering the enemy
